RIP, I always thought he seemed like a really nice guy. One of those deaths that's got under my skin a bit.

yeah this has been really sad.
his "just one thing" programme on r4 always seems to be on whenever i get in the car lately and it's always such friendly, informed, non-judgy health programming

I've been thinking for days now that his gig as a columnist for the Daily Mail just doesn't fit with any of his other work.
But it absolutely does, because the DM age (and err.. other) demographic is perfectly placed to maximally benefit from and listen to his advice. And all he ever seemed to want to do is help loads of people like, y'know, a doctor.

Obviously all his healthy living stuff too, was obviously planning on being around for a while and for 67 he was pretty fit.
Always listened to Just one thing and it always resonated as a simple lifestyle change that had massive benefits.
This whole thing has been a bit of a shock. It's one of those you can't quite believe it things. Really tragic.

Yeah the Michael Mosley thing has hit me quite hard. Just like when John Peel passed. I will keep on spooning on the flax seeds and standing on one leg, because he taught me something.

For me, I think it's that he was within touching distance of the resort that makes it tragic.

Not really a celebrity as such, and probably known only to a niche audience, but Ben Potter of the Comicstorian YouTube channel has died at 40 in an accident.

Gaps Hendrickson of The Selecter 😢 I saw them play a tiny gig at The Cavern, Croydon. Absolutely banging.
Edit: or it might have been The Cartoon… feels like a lifetime ago now.

Excellent stage name, as I’d always assumed that Sunchyme tune was by some exotic Euro DJ, not a guy called Paul from Crewe. RIP

Until I read the obit I genuinely had no idea that's where he got the name from, which definitely did not age well...

Ah, that sucks. Had totally forgotten about him and his music but I quite enjoyed some of his tracks when I was in school.

The sad day Julie Kavner passes - or any of the main four cast members, for that matter - will probably be the day they finally put The Simpsons to rest. Recasting or continuing without them would just feel wrong.
