Awful to hear, he was hilarious and made 8 out of 10 cats what it was.

Had no idea he was unwell.
Very funny guy, real shame.

Very sad indeed. 15 Storeys High was very good, and who'd have thought Benedict Wong would go on to be in such huge films?

Had no idea he was unwell. Very funny guy, real shame. Think he's kept it a secret pretty much.

His voice sounded really damaged recently which made me Google if he had been ill but couldn't really find much about it. Guessing it was throat cancer or at least started as it (I lost my mum to the same thing).
Absolutely gutted, one of the quickest witted comedians around and like others have said cats does countdown won't be the same now.

Sean Lock had one of the best jokes i've ever heard.
Talking about how 'i'm not racist, i've got black friends' is a very weaselly defence, he added 'you wouldn't say, i'm not a paedophile some of my best friends are kids'.
He was an absolutely hilarious guy and made Countdown watchable.

I don't think I've ever been this affected by a celebrity death before. It's actually had me down all day.

The surprise/shock gets me, had a similar reaction with Bowie because I had no idea he was ill. Whereas with Terry Pratchett, a massive hero of mine, it was tragic but sort of tempered by the knowledge that he was.. eh. Had tome to come to terms with that one I guess?

RIP. Looked pretty good for his age, never mind someone with terminal cancer. He almost made that Countdown thing watchable.

Austin Mitchell, former Labor MP for Grimsby, so who cares? But apparently quite the celebrity over here in NZ. Worked here as a philosophy lecturer who moved into current affairs television.

Absolutely gutted. I fucking loved him. Also been showing my son a lot of standup in the last 12 to 18 months and his favourite from all of them is Sean.

My wife bought some fruit from Borough Market and was served just before him. She resisted talking to him. That's my Sean Lock story. ,(cool story bro etc)

Like many of you, this one actually landed. I've always been a comedy nerd and these guys are my rock stars. Sean was someone I'd always planned to go and see live but never got organised. Definite lesson there.
Had similar emotions to when we lost Rik Mayall, just feels like the world has suddenly got that bit worse.
At least those close to him had some warning. Harry Hill, Alan Davies, and Jimmy Carr all intimated they were aware and prepared.

Followspotting stand-up usually sucks, but Sean’s show was a notable exception. Can’t remember the tour’s name but the closing gag is one I won’t forget - won’t spoil it for anyone now going back through and watching these, but it involved a fairly elaborate costume.
Is there anywhere reliable to watch 15 Storeys?

Sonny Chiba, Streetfighter extraordinaire.
I imagine Quentin Tarantino is a sad bunny today.

RIP Sonny Chiba. Probably best known in the West for making a sword in Kill Bill, but he was in loads of cool stuff. I'm going to find somewhere to watch The Street Fighter later.

GI Samurai is also fun. As is Wolf Guy (which is pretty mental) and Shinkansen.
