There was a few I still have all my SuperPlay issue 1 to the last one printed and the Gold issue, wonder if they are worth much nowadays. I also have Edge issue 0 - 150 all stack up in the cupboard lol, happy gaming days these were the interweb spoiled it really. Some others too. Who remembers SuperPaly the art alone was awesome!

I really miss a good games mag. Like you say, the internet ruined them. I used to be a subscriber to C&VG back in the mid-to-late 90s and I wish I still had all those, sadly they got chucked out years ago

Beautiful.
Could you do something similar with your Edge collection? There was an issue that sort of made me realise that I was a 'serious' gamer in 2001 or 2002, would love to see if I can recognise the cover

I kinda hope they aren't worth anything, so that you can relax and enjoy them! Any hint of worth will mean you bag them up and never touch them

I used to get PC Format. One cover, as they usually did, had a brunette model in a purple dress on it. I right fancied her. She'll be all old now

Still looks good for her age

That's basically the cover that couldn't be removed from the first 28 pages and your mum had to put it in the bin as a result. You've proven nothing. NOTHING

I subscribed to PC Format as well. Got a bunch of cool things off them, like Ultima Underworld II I still have in a box. It was (is?) an amazing mag.
I know there are still some magazines being printed in the UK, I subscribe to Linux Format now, but just the digital edition, no reason to pay for postage etc as that’s surprisingly expensive.
In PL we have at least two gaming mags that still get printed. I subscribe to both to support the initiative, through don’t have the time to read them back to back like I used to even a couple of years ago. I hope they can continue for some years still.

The One Amiga was the ultimate magazine. All others, nay, all human endeavor pales into insignificance when compared to it's glory.

I used to have loads of games magazines from the early '90s to the early '00s. Most of the best ones were from the early '90s - Game Zone, Amiga Power, Sega Power etc. The late-'90s ones were mostly PSX magazines from the 'lads mag' era and generally awful. I remember PS Plus had actual tits in it, and PS Pro was, in retrospect, one of the most blatantly corrupt magazines ever. They would give 8s, 9s and 10s to games which were pilloried elsewhere.
I binned them all years ago, they'd probably be worth a few quid now. Like all the other gaming stuff I binned or sold for a pittance years ago.

I remember PlayStation Power. It had a free memory card with the first issue.
I was young and impressionable at the time and I remember in one issue it had images of the Sarah Michelle Gellar/Selma Blair Cruel Intentions kiss.
It even encouraged cutting them out to make a sort of animation by flicking through them quickly

I’m pretty sure I’ve still got issue 2 through to almost the end of Official Playstation Magazine back in my parents loft. Probably a couple of years worth of Playstation Power too.
And an almost complete set of Kerrang! 1996-2002.

PS Power certainly had a “lad mag” phase I appreciated as puberty hit

My greatest achievement in life was to top the highscores tables in the Zzap!64 mag for Superpipeline. It was all downhill from there

We used to get Crash when we had a speccy, then Mean Machines Sega when we moved on to Master System and Mega Drive, which I loved. After that, maybe the odd Playstation 1/2, N64 or Edge mag, but kinda stopped console mags at that point. My first subscription was PC Zone which was great, absolutely gutted when that stopped. Now it's just Retro Gamer, which is feckin awesome.

There was an interview with the editor of that in the latest Retro Gamer, they seem like a really good bunch. Is the first issue decent? May backorder it!

Anyone else get the new Zzap? It's pretty decent, and them adding a covermount with demos and stuff is really great - my only issue is that loading up the files on my Mister is a bit too fast so I can't read the magazine while the tape is loading like I used to.

Yeah, was a decent read actually. And for 6 quid I thought it's worth backing a couple of chaps just trying to get a bit of retro love out there.

And an almost complete set of Kerrang! 1996-2002. I have the first 10 or so issues of OPSM. It was a fantastic magazine - all nicely printed and looking professional. Getting a disk on it was a lifesaver as I had got the playstation in '95 but no games to play on it, so had to make do with the demo games off the mag. Happy days!

I've got an almost complete Super Play collection - missing two issues toward the end of its life. I should have a decent collection of the N64 one lying around somewhere as well. Got Edge 1-20. Just binned a lot of mags - Games TM, whatever other shot I was buying back then. My mate has a complete collection of Maximum (well, all six of them) that I keep trying to get him to sell to me, but he won't. The tosser. Brilliant mag that.
I've got odd random issues of Amiga Power, Zzap, and Sinclair User in a box somewhere.

Ah the demo discs. My muggle parents bought me three very similar games with my PS1 and honestly the demo discs and Demo 1 kept me going.

I might be slightly muddled but I think I got Wipeout, Mortal Kombat 3 and Lemmngs 3D with my PS1 at Christmas 95.
The original Demo 1 got a lot of play too. And the OPM demoes, I think most if not all will be in a box beside the magazines at my folk’s.

This was the magazine I bought that Christmas. Yes, mainly for the demos. I remember that the Frogger and Courier Crisis demos were so difficult that they may as well have been the full game for how much progress I could make

I bought the Crash annuals instead as I was on the "other side" from Zzap. Quite liked the annuals. Didn't go for the regular new issues though as I have too many old magazines (Edge, Retro Gamer and Official Saturn mainly) taking up too much space...
