Argh. The Rewards system is such a mess. I thought I had changed my auto redeem to get an extra month of GP ultimate but no, was still on a gift voucher and I can’t get to the auto redeem settings on the rewards site 🤦🏻♂️

Aye, lovely little game. A good one to dip into daily for cheevos (not that rewards are worth bothering with any more)

Can you actually pass a game to someone else on game pass?
If not why not?

Aye, lovely little game. A good one to dip into daily for cheevos (not that rewards are worth bothering with any more) Rewards are back to being pretty good now. They went to crap just before Christmas but with the Quests + streak rewards now being easily achievable, 5k+ a month is pretty doable without a huge amount of faff. It won't keep pace with redeeming GP Ultimate but I'll be claiming my second 3 month of the year within the next couple of weeks

Really looking forward to playing Curse of the Golden Idol and Neon White - exactly the type of games I love having GP for.

Both very good games, both already bought and played unfortunately for me!
Would be cool to see golden idol 2 as a day one...

Big changes coming to Gamepass. Thanks a bunch shitty ActiBlizz acquisition....
"Soon, Xbox Game Pass for console will be shuttered for new users only. Those already using Game Pass console with existing subscriptions will not be required to cancel.
Users currently on Xbox Game Pass for console will be allowed to maintain their subscription, as well as day one games.
New users on Xbox Game Pass in the near future will be greeted by a new Xbox Game Pass "Standard." This is more like EA Access, which includes Xbox's back catalogue, and doesn't include day one games.
This will be priced at $14.99 per month, and will also include Xbox Live Gold for multiplayer (now known as Game Pass Core, confusingly). It doesn't include Xbox Cloud gaming. Game Pass Standard is launching in September.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will not be changed, but it will get a price increase. It will still include PC Game Pass, day one games, and hundreds of back catalogue titles, as well as cloud gaming. But, it is getting a price increase. The new price will be $19.99 per month, or $74.99 per year.
PC Game Pass is also getting a price increase, from $9.99 per month to $11.99.
Xbox Game Pass Core (Xbox Live Gold multiplayer) gets an annual price increase to $55.99 from $49.99, but it will remain $9.99 per month"

The big issue for many "Microsoft will only allow users to stack Game Pass for Console for up to 13 months".

I've still got around 20 months left in my subscription, which I guess is enough time for the dust to settle. By the time that runs out, I'll check out any available options, but I won't be paying 240+ euros per year, that's for sure...

The stacking thing never made much business sense to me, why would you let people buy 3 years of your expensive premium service for next to nothing?

MS continue to fuck up and undo all the good things they have done over the years
I have GP ultimate till about early summer next year but will never pay what ever the UK price is for that. Them taking away gamepass for console sucks as it was something I sometimes use when I just wanted to play a new game and there was no deals for xbox gold at the time.
Also why are they keeping Core? its pointless
Booty, Bond and Spencer need to go

The big issue for many "Microsoft will only allow users to stack Game Pass for Console for up to 13 months". Maybe not a big issue for GP Consoleas most xbox owners are on Ultimate already? The 3 year stacking trick that console owners take advantage of is converting cheap Gold codes to Ultimate. Pretty sure you can't do that conversion to GP for Console, it's for ultimate only. It's not clear if the 3 year GP Ultimate stacking is being reduced. So far it appears it might be still doable, just prices have gone up.

I would have thought all stacking would be reduced as they want your money!

If they remove the stacking feature I'll probably just buy the odd month when there's a few games I want to play. I've a couple of years left so time to get my money's worth.

Glad to see most gamers are not happy about this (some are defending it but fanboys will fanboy even with MS foot on their face)
If MS copy EA - day one games will take a year to come to standard gamepass. Putting diablo and COD games on there is something most gamers rather not have compared to this fucking mess
this is from 2020 but Phil said this

In fairness, 3-4 years is like a lifetime ago in the gaming (and other technology-driven) industry

I expect a price rise since 2020 but just calling out Phill's complete lie and they made gamepass worse

What part of it is a lie, though? It was sustainable as a business model 4 years ago. Doesn't mean it would be sustainable until the heat death of the universe.
Not that I want a price rise of course, but the moment the acquisitions started I knew this was on the cards.

It seemed like it was never sustainable as you could get 1 month or trial for 14 days and play the latest game and then cancel
Also stacking years of xbox gold/core then converting to ultimate also not sustainable, which now they have made much worse - but it was great for us and I will miss that.
Also I'm sure to the none clued up gamers the new gamepass tier system will be a pain for them
