My wife forced me to buy a coat last year when in Wales on holiday. Before then I hadn't worn one for years. I've got three now but I still get told off for not wearing one :/

I suffer with Misophonia quite badly, tried hypnotherapy and a few others with no luck. Trick is making sure you have headphones with you at all times. I get this too, the absolute worst are tea slurpers, as you don't get any warning to get the headphones in.
SLURP Put's down drink Immediately picks up drink SLURP
I'm am scrabbling for the phones, but it too late, my irrational urge to kill is rising, and now I'm in a bad mood.

I don't understand why it's so difficult for people to chew with their mouths closed and drink without slurping. Also, people should be self-aware enough to move away from their desks if eating something which is impossible to consume quietly.

Anyway, people who use Outlook, Word etc without maximising them. Just make it full screen FFS! Why are you using it in a little window.

I didn't know there was such a thing as this. I certainly can't stand chewers and slurpers (and apple crunchers), but I put it down to bring a miserable old bastard. My wife's just started making some all new noises with her tongue when she's thinking which I'm trying and failing to not get irritated by. In my case, I think it's because I'm a miserable old bastard, but I sometimes have to leave the room if someone is eating an apple or ridge crisps.

Interestingly misophonia seems related to an over active amygdala which is in turn associated with stress (as it's the body's 'fire alarm'). That would account for why I'm now picking up on this and getting a reaction to it.
I need to get back to mindfulness meditation as that's been proven to reduce the size and activity in the amygdala while increasing activity in the pre frontal cortex (the area that controls the amygdala and tells us to ignore the amygdala).
Thanks for raising this. I really need to calm my amygdala down.

There's a bloke at our work, that you'd absolutely LOVE: Picks up cup, slurp, slurp, slurp. Lowers cup, you think relief is coming, but cup gets raised again: slurp, slurp, slurp, cup lowers, then raises once more. continue ad nauseum until end of mug. There was another mouth breather who I couldn't be near who made the most noise when eating that I have *ever* heard. TL;DR some people are animals.

Do you slurp when eating soup noodles, ramen and the like? You're kind of supposed to, the intake of air cools the noodles as they enter the mouth.

That's allowed surely (& polite in the appropriate society) .
I think it's excessive noise that's the issue!

I'm annoyed by the 'trending searches' list that's appeared on my Android Chrome app, that I can't get rid of. Wish it would foible off.

@ Toast:
On your Android phone or tablet, open a browser like Chrome. or Firefox. Go to google.com. At the top left, tap Menu. Settings. Under "Autocomplete with trending searches," select Do not show popular searches.
That shoudl do it. I don't get trending searches on my chrome app.

Only started happening today so don't know if it's an app update or something?

I usually slurp randomly when drinking tea. Took a rock to the mouth through a bus window when younger and it's left a tiny lump on my lip, not noticeable unless you're asked to look but enough to cause a slurp when not paying attention. Usually get annoyed at myself when it happens as I can't stand slurpers. I've become what I hate.

I would have to fight the urge not to violently murder you with chop sticks.
Both of you slurping cunts.

I checked and I've got the latest Gogle Chrome update and I dont see any trending searches, i just get whatever I last looked at myself. Have you tried this: 1. Open Chrome on Android. 2. Open the 3 dot menu in upper right. 3. Open Settings. 4. Just under your name, tap Sync & Google Services. 5. Turn off the Auto Complete Searches & URLs. That said, I've got this "on" and I'm not seeing what you are. I've got everything else below that off though.

In that case (1) Try turning "Auto Complete Searches & URLs" on (I've just read someone thinks this fixes it which is exactly the opposite of the above). (2) Clear your cache (3) No clue aside from turning your phone on and off / stopping the application to make sure its picked up the changes.

What about having their coat slung over their shoulder with one finger holding it? If I stuff it under my arm, it'll get crumpled. What if they have the arms jauntily tied in a knot across their chest? I do this too, but in my defence it's a hoody, with loads of crap in the pockets so If I tie it round my waist it'll fall off. Carrying warm outer layers incorrectly is my hill, and here I shall die.

It annoys me when clothes have writing on the limbs that sometimes appear upside down. For example, a logo on a trouser or short thigh that appear upside down when seated.

quitsking Still no joy, but thanks anyway for helping. If nothing else at least its an insight into what's currently on people's minds (for instance, "covid allergic reaction hair dye").

Seriously? Covid and hair dye? People need to get off their flaming computers and take a long hard look at their fuckwit selves.
Sorry I couldn't help. I'd maybe suggest full data cleanse (the "All Time" one), uninstall and re-install the app, trying a different search engine (see if its the app or the search engine),Clear Defaults (under App Info), and beyond that I don't know.
I'll keep digging as I dont get it at all (Android 12)
I don't think this next will help (it changed screw all on my phone), but...
Look in: Settings (Phone Settings) -> Google -> Setting for Google Apps -> Search, Assistant and Voice
There you will find a load of settings. Under "General" there is "Auto Complete with Trending Seaches"
