A bit easier than 3 Lions. Our equivalent is en-ger-land en-ger-land en-ger-land - which the average pissed up England fan seems to have got their head around.

Had to accommodate the Chelsea fans so they didn't find it difficult to transition from "Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea".

To me it's more paid fans (like the English ones), especially as they seem to be chanting Espanyol (Spanish) Rather than España
I look forward to seeing the Nordic "fans" pronounciation.

Anyone know anyone that is actually going? I have a group of mates going to Bahrain and just staying there for a week to get pissed and watch the games. Don’t know anyone travelling to Qatar.

No. After Scotland's stoic and admirable refusal to participate in this offensive charade, all the people I know who usually go to watch the national team have, similarly, declined to travel. A tough decision, but morally and ethically the right thing to do ./nod

Not sure those Spain "fans" would know what "no hablo espanol" means.

I was fuming that I had to pay £7.20 for a pint of Bud at Wembley, but £12 is obscene. Maybe they are pricing it that high so it won't be drank because of the heat...

£0.20 is too much for a pint of Budweiser.

At this point if one team took a stand against all the shit and just walked I'm sure others would follow. There needs to be a watershed for football's governing bodies.

Be brilliant but never going to happen. I imagine all the relevant people in the FA and other countries governing bodies, have been handsomely paid to show enthusiasm and gusto for the tournament

My colleague is going in a work capacity and I forgot to ask if he was staying in tent city. Thankfully I avoided getting asked.

I wonder if there will be some sort of stand off re armbands - FIFA are saying they have mandatory bands depending on the round, we are saying we will wear the ' one love' ones.
I know it's a weak protest but I'd like to see us stick to our guns despite any pressure.

Anyone else feel that even aside from the lack of booze, ban on gays and thousands of dead slaves, that the football itself doesn’t feel like particularly exciting prospect this year?

Yeah. We are showing the England game at work on Monday. I’ve got some calls booked and I’m really not that bothered.
Normally I’d be really excited.

You'll be at your desk flying your flags singing it's coming home when it starts.

Genuinely disturbing what’s happened to Matt Le Tissier. Off the deep end with a cartoon anvil tied to his foot.

At this point there are so many injured it might as well be a boycott. Half the good players are seemingly out, anyway...

Qatar is so fucking hot they have to cool the outdoor pools.
This is just bonkers.
I am not defending the award to Qatar, which was clearly corrupt and stupid. But Qatar is basically a super young nation that was until recent history basically people living in tents. Then came the gas and they got rich, fast.

I'm curious as to what people do in tent city when there's no game.
There's doesn't seem to be any cafes, bars or restaurants nearby. Do you just sit in your tent an sweat?
Assume its similar to Dubai, big shopping malls, and museums. Maybe the markets, though I imagine they'll be absolutely rammed. Not sure if the beaches are accesable unless your in the right hotel.

If you are near Doha there should be something to do but a couple of the stadiums seem very remote. I think the 'village' may be it. Depressing.
