I wish there was a way for Messi to win whilst his teammates simultaneously lose. Bunch of cheats, constantly feigning injury and trying to con the ref at every opportunity. The absolute worst aspects of football culture at times in that half.

I think there is a fair amount of confirmation bias amongst a few of you here re "diving cheating Argentinians". Even the dive to attempt to avoid a yellow is so mundane as to be barely worth mentioning it happens so frequently.

The challenge on the Croatia player in yesterday's game was much more a penalty, and yet the ref and VAR didn't deem it a foul.
Same type of challenge, but an even clearer clip of the heel.

It was a fairly subtle one but credit to the referee where it's due. Big call, and the right call. |

That aside it's a complete mischaracterisation of how and why they are winning this game. They've been sensational and playing all the football. It's not been time wasting, niggly fouls and play acting at all
