Can’t help but think All You Need is Love is going to start when the French anthem begins. Love la La Marseillaise. It's a quality anthem. Much better than our various dirges. Hearing them bang it out at mureayfield/hampden always makes me proud to be french. Until i remember i'm not. 😜 Just can't help but think of Civilization from when I was like 10 years old. |

I’m neutral on the final. Would be really happy for Hugo to win it again, but also happy to see Messi do it as well (he’s been brilliant this tournament). Plus Romero would win so we get a WC winner either way  |

I really don’t like the French team, I’m not sure why. Perhaps deeply engrained anti-French social conditioning. Perhaps the lack of nostalgia because they were shit when I was young. Perhaps the Arsenal association when they finally got good. Whatever it is, I really don’t want them to do back to backs.

Plus they only won it five minutes ago whereas Argentina have been chronic under-performers and trophy starved since 1986.
I know these things shouldn’t be a factor but as possibly the best ever it does feel like Messi could do with a couple more international medals to go with the participation award they gave him in South Africa.
