Edit: Will probably punch a few cunts as well.

I'm properly looking forward to it, been a while this kind of film has been available to watch. Still ironic that a real life Bond Villain owns the franchise

I'll go see it with my dad but Craigy has reaaaally run his course. Not sure if he's been done a disservice, in the same way Brosnan was, or that he's just a bit shit and peaked with Casino Royale.
My girlfriend describes him as just a bit "common and chavvy" for Bond.

My girlfriend describes him as just a bit "common and chavvy" for Bond. Meh, he's fine. It's more that Casino Royale was the best out of the four instalments.

Got tickets for the big IMAX for midday on 30th. Excellent.

An adult ticket for this in the BFI IMAX in Waterloo costs £29! Crikey. In general cinema prices have been a lot more reasonable since cinemas re-opened. Standard ticket in my local Odeon is about £8.50 now (and £6 at certain times), whereas up until cinemas last closed due to Covid it was about £13 for a standard ticket.
In some territories this is actually getting a 3D release. Not in the UK, though. I accept 99% of people won't care but I'm one of the few that actually enjoys 3D so a bit disappointing I won't get to see it that way (unless it gets a 3D disc release, which seems unlikely ...). I thought both Black Widow and Shang-Chi looked great in 3D.

An adult ticket for this in the BFI IMAX in Waterloo costs £29! Yikes! got two VIP IMAX tickets for the Printworks Manchester for a grand total of £22.98. Mind you, BFI IMAX is a fantastic cinema.

43 screenings per day at the Trafford Centre Odeon. That’s...a lot!

Bit sad that they've dropped Cuntpuncher from the title.

I'm torn, as I've watched every bond movie in the theater since I was old enough, but I haven't been to the cinema since the pandemic started... grgh!
Also, it's very hard with Craig movies to have any idea which ones will be great or so so. Ones that sound good on paper sometimes turn out less than stellar. I think Spectre damped down my enthusiasm a bit. Still, it seems like the Craig era is following an on-again-off-again pattern, so that should make No Time To Die a goody.
Eva Green for Bond!

Reviews are looking good! 5 stars from Peter Bradshaw AND he manages to not give the whole plot away.

I saw the reviews going up yesterday. I've not read any of them but a couple of critics I follow really didn't like it. Will read them once I've seen the film tomorrow.

A bit of a mix of reviews, but a lot of them seem pretty good. I'm getting cautiously optimistic... which will be my downfall.

Is it too early to discuss spoilers? There’s spoilers below. This is a spoiler warning and all that. Just to make it extra clear. Well now. Even with a plot lifted from Metal Gear Solid this is pretty batshit. Bond has a daughter! Bond fucking dies! A few nice OHMSS callbacks though, and it at least makes it fairly definitive that the next one will be a full on reboot again, unless they decide to retcon in “James Bond is a code name” like they’ve been threatening to for decades.

So this was quite good. A few notes: - While bordering on 3 hours long, there's barely any dull moment. Lots of great action sequences, there was a one shot scene in a stairwell that was particularily great.
- There's the right amount of humour in this. Bond is not so deadly serious all the time. And Craig really seemed to enjoy playing the role.
- Finally a few more gadgets in this. Nothing over-the-top, just the right amount.
- The plot isn't a mess, but it is not polished. There were quite a few smaller things like "Here's a thing that does this. Don't touch it!" and then it never gets mentioned again. It would have been better if of ten of those things, 7 got removed and 3 were expanded upon. But it was surprisingly emotional for a Bond movie.
- The opening credits were meh. Nothing remarkable, and the song is boring. But perhaps it'll grow on me.
- The score by Zimmer is perfectly fine, but unremarkable. Somewhere near the end there was a part that reminded me of The Dark Knight trilogy.
- Perhaps a weird thing to say, but it was the complete opposite of a Nolan movie in terms of clarity of speech. There were some moments were the action-y ambient sounds were too quiet even, I remember thinking "why are they yelling" (but that could have been because of our suboptimal seats).
Endings are hard, and ending a quintology is even harder. As such, it was great. As a standalone Craig Bond film I rate Casino Royale as the best, then Skyfall, then this, then Spectre. There were only four, right?

Definitely only 4. The only one I properly rate is Casino Royale.
The rest are fine as Bond movies though. I'm not having Skyfall as some masterpiece. The whole plotline around Bond chasing Javier Bardem around the world, just so he could do a The Dark Knight break out was terrible.

Surprised this has turned out decent, I thought the trailers looked kinda crap. But I didn't realise it was a 3 hour runtime, I assumed it was just going to be a mess like Question of Sport was.

See I liked QoS. For me without a doubt Skyfall was the lowest ebb. I really disliked that film and it's BBC thriller ending. This looks good though, think I'll take the family on Sunday.

I really enjoyed Skyfall. It's maybe the least "Bond" of the Craig-era movies, which is why I might like it the most. Casino Royale is very close though.
I tried to rewatch QoS and got bored, switched it off halfway through as I Just didn't care at all.

In an actual cinema.

Skyfall is a winner for me because I was living in Shanghai when it opened, and a bunch of the movie is set there and Hong Kong, so I get good vibes whenever I watch it. Casino Royale was such a stupendously good opener, though, everything else was always going to struggle. QoS was Alien 3. Started shooting with half a script, and the writers strike made sure they never finished it.

Casino Royale for me, saw it in Hawaii and the crowd cheering when he punched that guy in the black and white but was good. Not usually a fan of the crowd making noise but that was an exception.
