How do I feed pills to my sodding cat?

Like a pate? Fuck me, why didn't I think of that?

She's allergic to fish, chicken and numerous other things, so perhaps not fish, but a beef pate might be just the ticket by jove.

All I have to do is find a beef based pate in this sodding hellhole of a cuntry.

Baby food also works very well.

After mixing it with mustard.

We used to cut them in qtrs and stuff them in ham. Or in those food sticks.

We used to have to swaddle the cat like a baby jesus and massage its throat. She wouldn’t ever touch food we’d hidden it in.

We had a cat with a heart condition who needed two or three pills twice a day at one point.  She always knew when the pill was hidden in food or a treat so that was a no-go.  The pills-down-the-throat option is a pain at first but she got so used to it in the end it was part of the daily routine.

Hints!  Preparation and positioning is key.  Have the pill ready by your side, broken up into small enough pieces if they look too big.  No treats or coatings, they will make it more difficult.

Get behind the cat in a kneeling position so that their back is between your thighs.  Left them up by their chest so they end up in a sitting position.  This is where preparation is key - you don't want to be wasting time trying to find the pills.

Use your non-dominant hand to grip the cats UPPER jaw on either side by the canines - come from over the top.  Start to lift their head using this grip - their jaw will naturally open.  You do NOT want to try and force the jaw open from the bottom, they will only resist.

Pop one pill in, as far down the throat as you can.  This will stop them tasting it and trying to spit it out.  Release the hold on the upper jaw and rub their throat to encourage swallowing.  Hold their head up a little bit, there is only one way the pill can go!

Repeat for however many pills you have.  Give them a treat at the end.  Job done.

It is a nightmare at first, but it does become easier and my cat expected it before her food.  Hope that helps!

Our cat was the most placid, amazing cat ever, but *hated* having pills and would always bite down or try to scratch us to get us off him, it was hell trying to give him tablets each day, but then we discovered this stuff: www.petdrugsonline.co.uk/easy-pill-cat-putty - suddenly it went from something he hated to something he really looked forward to, so +1 to the putty/pate suggestion!

We've got that putty stuff/pill pockets, but she's too much of a picky eater to even try it. And she won't go near cheese.

At the moment it's a 2 man job, with my wife wrapping the cat in a blanket and me dropping the pill down it's throat. Seems a bit traumatic.

Get them when their attention is elsewhere, pull the mouth all the way open, then chuck the pill in the very back of their throat. Close mouth, massage neck.

Put the pill in a BB gun and shoot it into the cats mouth when they yawn.

If the pill is small enough, gently place it in the slit of your dick. Pretend to be sleeping on the couch and let nature take it's course.

Okay, so an update for this, we managed to just tilt the cat's head back and drop it in, gently blow on her nose, which forces her to swallow so she can get her tongue out to lick her nose and at first it was a 2 man job, but now we can do it alone. Very stress free, no farting about with any extras. Seems like a win!
