Yeah and most the voters who really care about the environment and have bought electric cars already, are in the South East in the "Blue Wall". Plus they're the ones middle class enough to go wild swimming in rivers.

I do feel for the owners somewhat, but fucking hell you've knowingly bought a breed that's been created purely to get around an existing ban.

Yeah there’s definitely some truth to the argument that any dog can be dangerous and generally the blame should be put on bad owners. I do also have some sympathy for the woman who got one to feel safer when alone running etc, which I totally get. But yeah, get an Alsatian or whatever.

The bully walk was hilarious, predictably looking exactly like a Britain First march. And a Big Brain logic propostition, too. Its not the dog, its the owners say the owners of dogs that keep mauling people. Ok, get fucked then?

Fundamentally, they're wild animals. I've said before but you wouldn't allow someone to have a wolf in the park, due to its size and ability to absolutely maul someone.
The other day, I was out running and this old woman (think the type with a name like Brenda or Beryl) had 3 yorkies - two on long leads and she was holding a third.
I was running along and she came round a gentle corner. It turns out one of the Yorkies had snapped at me but the only outcome was it got kicked in the face as I was running. I head earphones in but I think she swore at me.
If that had been a big dog, different ending to the story. I'm increasingly of the mind that we have no need, other than the police, for big dogs.

I felt sympathy for the woman saying she only felt safe on the streets with her XL Bully, but that kind of proves the point that they are breed to be vicious.
I don't know a huge amount about the topic, to be honest (always been a cat person), but the ban does feel a bit short-sighted. You ban this breed, but nothing stops the breeders just changing them enough to be classed as another breed and then you will just have to ban another (a ban you would only be able to put in place after numerous reports of attacks). I have no idea how you regulate such things, but going after individual breeds doesn't seem like an effective strategy.

There was a team of three middle aged women who used to sit in front of me, two of whom would sit there showing each other pictures of their cats doing cute things and the third always tried to join in with pictures of her staffie, utterly oblivious that nobody wanted to see her ugly, narrow eyed shark monster.

Extendable leads should be banned. They’re a pain on pavements and no use in a park that they can run in.
I’m sure they’re not allowed in some European countries, although I’ve noticed in places like Germany so many more of the dogs are well trained as well. Lockdown was awful for irresponsible dog ownership.

When you actively buy a breed as opposed to getting a rescue, it’s not that different to buying a car or whatever. You’re making active choices about the purchase, and a big part of that will be what owning that dog says about you and how it relates to your identity.
I had a mate who had a very aggressive staff, but he was extremely loveable with my mate and terrifying to anyone else. My mate clearly enjoyed this dynamic, but also his dominance over the dog showed how alpha and hard he was. And that’s what they’re really talking weigh when then go on about how loving these dogs are. They’re just showing off that they’ve conquered this dangerous breed (and tacitly acknowledging that they are dangerous).

I mean, where does it stop? If I could breed my cat out into a leopard, would they still allow it to roam free and snatch all of the neighbourhood pets out their gardens?
Literally the only reason to buy one is if youre a cunt. If you want a dog, get a standard, soft dog. If you want a weapon, buy a katana from a vape shop like everyone else.

What I assume is part of my undiagnosed autism is that I dont like anything unpredictable, so I dont really like animals in general but I especially dont like dogs. When I see one, I immediately mentally assess whether I could kick it to death if it went feral, so I especially dont like attack dogs.
Basically, I'm constantly trying to work out if I could win a fight against a dog.

Three grown men couldn't fight off the one that killed the guy the other week.
So unless you've been really focussing on your study of the blade, I'm guessing not.

Exactly, its why those monstrosities are my most unfavourite. I've pegged my abilities at collie or lower. Maybe a labrador but I reckon I could get a yorkie over a fence in one hit.

The funny thing about not liking dogs is how offended it makes their owners and how much effort they will subsequently put into trying to convince me that, although I have had a lifelong dislike of dogs, theirs is the one that I'll actually be fine with.

Some dog owners (not all) act as though they're in a cult. 'He's just playing!' I don't care, keep him the fuck away from me.
FWIW I don't mind dogs on the whole.

See despite Maj being a exceptionally friendly fellow, I'm fully aware of how big he is, especially to people who don't know him and/or don't like dogs. He doesn't ever get to run over to people we don't know until they've said they're ok with him saying hello.
It's not a difficult thing to do.

I love all dogs and have always been around them my whole life, but still baulk at some bigger dogs. It's healthy to have a respect for dogs and recognise that even thr friendliest can turn. Trying to teach my kids that is a little challenging.

I don't mind dogs as a rule, but their owners do seem to get a slightly skewed perspective on things. I was dating a woman earlier in the year who couldn't understand why I wouldn't stay over - her dog slept in her bed was why, and I told her that directly! Back when I had a cat I would let that sleep on the bed, but cats spend all sodding day cleaning themselves, whilst dogs eat other dogs' shit and roll around in fox poo, daft animals that they are.

"He's never done that before"*
*Last two occurrences being a boxer that head butted my hip and a great lolloping afghan hound that almost floored me after charging at me from behind, its owners then praised it for coming back when called and ignored me.

I consider myself a fan of dogs, don't see the point of the little yappy shits or the rip your throat out ones though, they can be great companions and a lot of fun. Haven't had one in decades though because the short lifespan relative to humans is painful to handle at times and I'd rather not face that again.
Completely onboard for a friendly dog to approach me for a quick pat when I'm out for a walk though but no matter what they are caution is always advised.

My kids and wife are all terrified of dogs. When any dog owner says their dog is friendly after it’s just strained the lead over toward them or started jumping up then they can fuck off. Worse are the ones who laugh when a 4 year old stands there screaming in fear.
I am the dog protector these days. Had to have a go at a couple of owners. Worst was some woman who had theirs off the lead in a park where they weren’t allowed dogs and was chasing kids balls. “He’s just playing and wouldn’t hurt them”.
Stupid cunt.
