Bottom line is, Load knows his Tesco Bank account's days are numbered.

I dunno, if you look at the docs they are trawling through tweets and acquaintances and making moral judgements.
This isn't an established, automated and regulated decision tree, it's speculation and opinion.

I have no evidence but if I had to guess, this feels like a palace coup as much as government intervention. There’s a lot of money in Coutts, and RBS was an old boys’ club back in the day filled with people who might not have liked a woman as CEO.

Ultimately, I suppose, but it will have been instigated by taking money from the russians and whatnot. The CEO for sure shouldnt have talked about the issue but outside of that, I dont really see anything particularly off about it.
Stuff like this happens every day to people without the mystifying levels of clout this fuckhead has. Window cleaners denied an account because they are a cash business or Muslims denied life insurance because the algorithm says their is a chance they will cash in their chips and send the money to Al Qaeda.

And now he has a soapbox to bleat about the tens of thousands just like him, hard working salt of the earth pie and a pint proper British fish and chips love the King real ale flat cap proud Englishmen who were also denied Coutts accounts.
Fucking great.

The power Banks and Megacorps wield is my issue, it's unfortunate he's at the heart story.

Yup, can imagine he's pretty happy to have gained some political capital out of this.

Exactly.
What's really important here is that the frog faced cunt has kept himself in the news for another cycle and given the tories another distraction to play on.

The power Banks and Megacorps wield is my issue, it's unfortunate he's at the heart story. Its unfortunate that when you start talking about 'rights', people like him handwave them away like they are made of AIDs but access to banking should be a right, yes. But..... he still has bank accounts. They chose to withdraw their taste the difference range from him, which puts it in the 'gay cake' you-cant-have-it-both-ways category for this guy.

And, y’know, if you take a step back and stop worrying about all this supposed trampling of his freedoms, he is also a genuine reputational risk for the Bank.

Am I also right in thinking that just because they closed the account, that doesn't mean his money has disappeared? He just no longer has an account with them?

The BBC are being total shites about this, it's amazing proof of how bad they've become. You'd think reading their homepage that Farage was telling the truth and that they'd closed his account just because of him being a slimy rat fucker, when actually it's because his account was under the wealth limit AND they chose not to make an exception for him on account of him being a slimy rat fucker.

I may have missed something in my FCA mandatory training (it's entirely possible, it was major boring shit), but aren't people like Farage (who is quite definitely a PEP) required to be regularly assessed and judged against their potential risk, because of things like money laundering regulations and the like?
From the FCA guidance:
PEP = Politically Exposed Person
Seems like they really didn't do much wrong here, to me. They undertook their obligations to the FCA rules, and judged that after his mortgage expired, they didn't want to do further business with someone who would be subject to EDD because of the potential risk.
Then that Farage has twisted it to fit his narrative and because he's cause celebre for some knuckle dragging fuckwits, someone has to pay! Good job the government leapt to correct this injustice swiftly, like it would do for any normal Joe...
Pity there's zero chance of any of the media picking up on that bit, though.

This whole thing is infuriating. Who the fuck cares about this cunt, and why is the BBC bending over backwards for this cunt? It is infuriating that he has now got something to put himself back into the spotlight and media “front pages”. He is a total irrelevance, and he knows it. Cunt.

Somebody should mention to the BBC that this is a regulatory requirement, not something the banks cooked up to make the poor little MPs feel sad.

It’s not about MPs geefe, it’s about PEPs, people who require extra checks when they are onboarded because their position/role makes them more likely to receive bribes, say, from Russia, for instance, like Farage. MPs are automatically also PEPs.

I know. I just hate seeing him lumped in with them. At least MPs have some semblance of responsibility and public interest.
This is just a fucking gobby cunt, who is a farm and BBC 2 show away from being Clarkson, whose bank have said he's too much of a risk to take on. Everyone should stop giving him the time of day.

It's all so fucking ridiculous.
That's all that is required for this "story". No more. But no, it's now a cause for the right wingers to bang on about.
"Poor, innocent man-of-the-people Nigel, wrongly refused access to services that are his by right! It could happen to you, too. Someone must pay!"
Oh, do fuck off. And yet, here's the BBC reporting him front and centre as he cries out for more heads to roll, definitely not attention seeking or playing to his confirmation-biased crowd of cackling morons on GB News.
There's literally no reason for this to be news.
