Yet another Johnson baby has been born, guess too late to act as a distraction to its father's misdeeds.
Hopefully that will be the last of them but I rather doubt his current wife will be his last so unlikely.

See Jenrick in the Commons has been saying similar this afternoon. The decided response is obviously that most of the kids are teenagers, so the cartoon characters aren't appropriate. To which the following question should be something like "so, will you be putting up pictures of Marvel characters instead?"
It also ignores the fact that the staff at these facilities (the ones that actually see the reaction of the kids that go through) clearly saw benefit of the images, as they initially resisted taking them down.
Also saw that someone in the Commons said to Jenrick that the best way to stop the boats would be to open legal routes. Jenrick said that it wouldn't stop the boats, as the occupants on the boats are mostly coming from safe countries. Except that ignores the fact most of them have their asylum applications approved.

A cabinet full, so they won't force him out next time.

This is actually quite astonishing. Everyone says what a rational system capitalism is as an allocation of resources. I know this is in a command and control economy, but still, the rationale behind this is amazing to me. So your point is both systems are stupid? Pretty much. China don't want to hold dollars so are spending money on shite to own actual assets. I think my point was more one of waste than anything else. We have a country of restricted housing supply, but in the most populated place in the world, we have cities standing empty. There is something seriously fucked with the world

It goes back to the GFC. Much was made in the aftermath how they took a different course to everybody else (who did quantitative easing) and borrowed money to invest in projects, especially building projects, to stimulate the economy. This initially seemed like a great idea, because it stimulated real economic activity instead of QE which was just just a monetary sleight of hand.
It looks like, just as we did we QE, it became difficult to undo it, and the economy became dependent on doing it until it got to the point that it massively outstripped demand and you got miles and miles of empty buildings standing empty.
QE proved equally difficult to reverse ofc.

As for Robert Jenrick (sp?) with his order to make migrant kids miserable, I can only conclude that he is a cunt. I mean, it was painting OVER something that was already there. Petty, cruel and unnecessary.

Jenrick first came to people’s attention when he took a bung to push through a Tory donors land deal. So of course he got promoted way beyond his meagre abilities

We should absolutely be basing policy on isolated incidents where Nick Timothy was made to feel emasculated

People with anecdotes like this always leave out the part where they were rude first

These annoying things where people split their story over 1/43 tweets now no longer work at all as embeds, as I can only see the first one. Success.

London has become lawless under Labour and here is my proof: by Nick Timothy Despite no longer being a Londoner, just a frequent visitor, it drives me mad how this sort of shit goes unchallenged without a journo pointing out how the funding works. Makes no difference if the allocated budget from Govt isn't enough to make a difference in terms of numbers. And The Met in meltdown hardly helps either.

Even if his anecdote is true, I'm not sure what law has actually been broken here. If the worst the city has to contend with is someone being a bit rude on the tube than it sounds like it is doing pretty well.

I'd be willing to sponsor someone to shout foul abuse at Nick Timothy and his wife all day. 20p a swearword they hear and are offended by.

Last time I was there was 2019 and people were friendly and offered their seats on the tube to me (who was carrying a sick kid at the time) and my family. Maybe it's gone all Escape from LA in the meantime.
I blame Nick Timothy.

London is definitely more of a run down shit hole now, but then again the entire country is being run into the ground - outside of sunny little middle England ageing white Brexit country, obviously. Those guys are thriving.

I never encountered anyone being a dick on the tube in Thatcher's day, it was all "excuse me sir/madam" and people would tip their hats to say thank you as you alighted from the carriage. It was most seemly.
Alternatively there's pricks everywhere, case in point the absolute cunt that was a fucking useless advisor to Theresa May and now gets paid to write absolute shit in the right wing press, his name : Nick Timothy.
