No idea if there's a betting market for MPs to cross the aisle but Johnny Mercer has been raging for a while now, he was the veterans minister and got pushed out by Truss and he looks like he's fuming about the travel pass situation. Starting to believe she really could be a Lib Dem sleeper agent at this stage. There are few other plausible explanations as to why she appears to be actively trying to destroy the Tories and pissing off so many sections of the country.

I’m not sure what else Mercer stands for our votes for but the work he does for the veterans is very good. He’s the sort that you’d really want involved in it no matter who is in power.

Ah they're going for the "he was on painkillers and had some drink that affected him" route, my chin feels incredibly itchy.

Truss approval rating is the lowest ever recorded. Even lower than Johnson during Partygate

The only thing she's said that's true was in error, although she's way below ground now.

Want doesn't come into it. He's been voted out by every single selector in his constituency.
There's rumours of dirty tricks in his selection anyway - his opponent was accused of stuff and had to withdraw, but has now been exonerated and it seems like Tarry's campaign/Momentum movement are the source, to ensure he got in in a safe seat.
He could still stand as an independent, but we already know that they won't do anything away from the party.

I am going to enjoy eating popcorn while momentum complain about the mandatory reselection process they/Corbyn put in place. Ostensibly so they could oust non left of the party MPs. This is the first time it's happened and it backfired.

Mandatory reselection is a good thing in principle, regardless of the outcome. It's the closest we've got to primaries, which I also support.

I have a drastic unrealistic fix for our mortgage problems. The UK rejoins the EU and starts the journey to adopt the Euro. Then our pensions can start buying Euro denominated bonds. Problem solved. (on multiple fronts ) /EVIL LAUGH

Mildly serious though, I wonder if they could fuck our economy so hard that rejoining the EU is the only sane thing left.
OH BOY!

It already is the sane thing to do, we'll only try to get back in when we no longer meet the fiscal requirements for entry.

Pretty sure we wouldn’t be allowed in with our economy and these current policies.
They aren’t going to get voted back in, they might as well reverse everything else announced in September.

This government continues to be a bigger threat to this country than Russia.
They need to go now.

From BBC:
The news of recent hours and days may have made your worried about your pension - but some context is needed here.
The Bank of England is stepping in to deal with a particular issue facing pension funds which deal with defined benefit pensions, like final-salary pensions. Those pension schemes also have a safety net called the Pension Protection Fund.
The move has no impact on your state pension, which the government has committed to raising in line with prices next April.
In fact, if we take a further step back, the expectation of rising interest rates in the long-term can be good for pension funds, but only after they have got over this current turbulence.
Fucking boomers.
