Truss seat on a knife edge.
Come on, give us a big one.

Not seen it mentioned anywhere, but if this is actually the lowest turnout ever, and it's also the first general election to require ID, it seems like there might be a bit of a connection.
Be interesting to get some demographic breakdowns of turnout later on.

Finally found my result. Labour won. Reform and Conservatives split the vote between them

Good morning then, Labouring Britain! Call me optimistic, but I think that Labour get more than 30 of the 90 or so remaining seats (last checked before writing this)... And that the crazies in the Tories keeping theirs will probably (hopefully) hurt more than help them

How did Hunt hang on there

How did Hunt hang on there Sounds like the Greens took votes from Lib Dems and various people in both parties aren’t happy about it, but the 100 year result for the LD’s is going to cheer them up.

I guess one factor in the low turnout might be that a lot of disaffected tory voters stayed at home, and Labour's "keep quiet and don't fuck it up!" campaign wasn't that inspiring. Plus maybe the obvious result meant some people didn't bother voting.
I still think the voter ID was probably a factor though.

Oh ffs, Ian Paisley Jr lost his seat (yay!) to Jim Allister who's even more of a hardline Unionist (boo!). Pretty big, the Paisley family has held onto the seat here for 54 years. But fuck Jr, so arrogant caught up in so many scandals, he's requested a partial recount too.

Seems like Labour have lost Blackburn to an independent, and somewhere else too.
Tbh, I'm not that bothered. It might even be a good thing. They have a big enough majority that it doesn't really matter, and I'd guess the independents who have gotten in would be mostly Labour-aligned anyway.
(edited by me to shift reform up as they're over the Lib Dems in terms of vote share)

Nice to wake up to 3 Greens with only 4 Reform after the wall-to-wall Reform coverage there was before I went to bed. Hopefully the seats still to declare aren’t all in semi derelict depressed seaside towns

Waking up to a face full of schadenfreude is nice. Glad it looks to be worse than the polls anticipated.

4 Greens now and a boat load of Lib Dems
Is it time to actually allow them both back onto television instead of only interviewing Lab, Con and Farage?

Truss creeps onto the edge of the stage so she can leg it after getting the boot. Perfect display of what she is!!!
Good riddance to rubbish.
