The thing is, you look at that Chris Mason interview and I know the speculation is that she is pissed out of her face but I do think she is just fucked in the head.
You can’t go through what she did without being damaged and she has clearly come out the other side of it with mental health problems. The problem is all the idiots encouraging her.

I'm more interested in the lettuce's opinion, it'll stay fresh longer anyway I heard it was a Romainer, so probably won't be aligned with her!

What makes you say that? Referring to the mental health issues specifcally. A few things. Listening to her speak, the things she says, the things she is doing and the fact that she must have experienced ego death after being roasted by the entire world. She came across as an idiot before but now she seems mentally incompetent in a completely different way. Like the person she is now wouldn't get within a million miles of the Tory leadership. This Chris Mason interview in particular, she just comes across as damaged in quite a fundamental way. I dunno, maybe I'm reading too much into it but I think it would be sad if she wasn't such a disgusting piece of shit.

Careful everyone, if you make 4 salad based jokes followed by a fruit joke, it spawns Fruit Salad.

When she was PM, she went completely missing, many times, almost as if she realised she was in over her head. I'm pretty sure that would damage you as a person as you realise you are just hot air with no substance. Much better grifting from the sidelines with no responsibility.

I believe the (hastily translated) Greek proverb “(S)He who is outside the dance-circle knows many songs” fits her well... All's well and good until you're in the spotlight and the BS doesn't fly anymore

While I have some sympathy towards any human going through what she did, I didn't take anything from her interview other than denial of responsibility while angling to ride atop of the next populist wave.
Refusing to accept responsibility for crashing the economy "because others were also responsible". Seemingly implying it was the bank of England's fault if I heard correctly.
Then giving her seal of approval of Trump being the next President "because he's strong" and Farage joining the Conservatives "because he represents true conservative values" while again mentioning the dreaded deep state felt like headbanger bingo.
After her comment on Farage, the the interviewer has a wry smile at her response as he closes the interview, which Truss almost responds to knowingly in kind.
Her ego is smashed into oblivion for sure, but she's but she's more than willing to stoke even more division and toxicity within society for some of that right wing donor cash.

Photographic evidence the last time Truss was right about anything, I think Brexit really broke the minds of a lot of Remain supporting Tories because while they thought it was bad they still wanted to have some power so had to switch their stance to pretty much being zealots like some people who change religion.

I think this is a great point that can be easily lost. If any of us had been working a job we were terrible at, for values we didn't believe in, with people who are clearly awful, that's got to eat away at someone from the inside. Still, she was already a Tory and switched for her own gains. If anything was eating away at her from the inside, I suspect it's pretty malnourished by now.

Got to be the first fix for Labour. Nice and easy, add a whole load of ID to the regulations that the disenfranchised will have.

Given Andy Street's views I very much doubt he wants Seagullis trying to "help", he probably thinks he's a prick.

Think you've got the cart before the horse.
She's *always* been an oddball. There's *something* missing from her. That speech of her as a teenager at some lib dem conference, "pork markets", that constant weird affect of a ditzy middle distance stare she constantly has while talking, like a middle aged recovering alcoholic experience a brief respite from back to back panic attacks.
She managed to wander in to being a PM like a toddler with a head injury *because* she's so lacking in....self awareness? Introspection? An appreciation of what is actually going on around her and what things mean and what matters?
She's the embodiment of failing upwards. How having the inability to go "oh, maybe I shouldn't' do that" can, by the law of averages, gain repeated benefits for the individual in a one in a million cases, like tossing a coin and getting a heads 100 times in a row can, by fluke sometimes happen.
But like everything that based on random luck of a coin toss, eventually you get tails. And she got it when she fell, she had reached such a dizzying height to fall from.
Terrible politician, unseasonably successful career, inscrutably broken personality. She's genuinely the most fascinating politician I can think of, and she's absolutely fucking horrible in every way.

FT review of Truss' book is hilarious, and so accurate.
On her financial/economics approach it says she uncontroversially says growth should be the ambition.

There's quite an interesting discussion of her personality on this week's TRIP podcast. Stewart of course worked as a junior minister under her and has some first-hand insights.

Chopsen - I don’t disagree with any of that it’s just that whatever her major malfunctions were previously, they are worse now. Academic, really. She was a fuckhead before and she’s a fuckhead now, it’s just that she seems to be in her ‘gorging on toblerone and living in a travel tavern’ era.
