I just hate him and everything he stands for is all. Him and Johnson represent the very worst of our public school system. Without all that power and money behind him Sunak would top out at team manager, the kind of arsehole who encourages you to update your LinkedIn profile in keeping with the team 'brand'.
He should have been nowhere near the most important job in the country because he is, underneath it all, a doss cunt.

I think you're being far too subtle.

This is the thing that gets me. His failings are *so* obvious it genuinely blows my mind that he got anywhere near number 10. How has nobody else said this to him?
'Stick to being an accountant, mate. Everyone thinks you're a dickhead'. He is just so fundamentally unlikable and out of touch with reality I don't understand how anyone thought this was the guy to take them to an election.

The Tories social media is fucking awful, yesterday it had him signing into legislation the new football regulator like he was a president rather than a prime minister, it got community noted hard, just like every other shitty post it makes.

Guess it's over for Starmer, Owen Jones has cancelled his Labour Party membership.

Guess it's over for Starmer, Owen Jones has cancelled his Labour Party membership.
And encouraged his fellow Corbynites to back other parties, to boot:
I'm pretty sure he'd cream his jeans if the Tories were to get back in somehow - guy just loves being in opposition.

The bloke is a narcissistic arsehole, I doubt anyone in Labour is going to be shedding any tears.

If only he spent even a quarter of his energy on what the tories are up to, but no he's like that jilted lover absolutely bent on revenge, cursing Labour's name any time he stubs his toe or gets a paper cut.

Not sure what's worse, the current crop of tories who have pretty much abandoned all pretence of serving the country. To the point they'd create a toxic culture war to save themselves, while they line their own pockets.
Or the hard left, who despise the tories and want to make the country a better more fair society. Unless that is, you're not fully on-board with their exact, pure socialist agenda and policies. In which case they'd rather see the world burn, even if it means the tories get back in.

Considering he's spent the last several years just laying into Labour at the expense of anything else I was surprised he was still a member.

A career move, positioning himself as a critic on the left probably more lucrative with Labour in power. More opportunities for gobshitery.

Quote from the bbc link (may have changed 2 words), very much agree with you all, he is just awful person. No different from the hateful tankie/hard left UK subreddit who are happy to see another 5 years of tory misery and pain if their person does not get in eg Galloway or corbyn

That article was hilarious. It was basically "look how morally great I am. I'm so morally great, it's in my genes". The best bit was at the end how he tried to frame a Labour majority as a chilling thing and bad for the country. The use of racism to justify his leaving was interesting, obviously he was ok with Corbyn et al and their pandering to antisemitism enough to not leave. In an election year of all things.

As a fully paid up Corbyite, I can understand why the party offers him nothing and he is taking his ball home. What I don't really understand is that he has been a 'member for 24 years' which puts him at joining up for the invasion of Iraq, the erosion of basic privacy rights and the general blairite, very slightly left of centre politics of the era. I can't really see what Starmer has done that upsets him so much compared to that era. We are going to get some very mild socialism and lots of boring 'we can't do that, its too radical' BAU. Same as it ever was.

You can't be the underdog if your party is in power can you. Best to leave and snipe from the sidelines.

He's just a fucking heckler. The thing that probably irritates me most is how much attention he manages to generate.

I don't mind him, on the whole. He's one of the very few left wing voices that get on TV and he articulates issues pretty well. Yeah, he's annoying sometimes but, fucking hell, we have an entire news station who uses tory MPs as pundits.

Wow. He really does come across as a prick there. He probably thinks the expression on Campbell's face from the Iraq "gag" shows how much of a zinger it was, rather than being an entirely inappropriate comeback to some fairly light ribbing.
