Trans Cat Killer is a fucking headline and a half. It's paper clickbait.

Fucking hell, I just looked at the headline at first, then came back and spotted the JK bit. It gets worse the more you read.
I made the mistake of opening it in a new tab and zooming in. What an utterly vile rag.

I’m not against non-dom exemptions being removed but Hunt obviously only wants to do it to insert new loopholes and tax breaks for the same millionaires after they change to domestic status. So he gets the headline Labour wanted and his pals and donors get to keep stiffing us and not paying their dues.

Allister Heath is pretty much the encapsulation of everything that's wrong with this country. A uniquely stupid, untalented fuckpig who is somehow still getting a column on one of our nations biggest papers because he hates the right people.

Sounds like the predictions are pointing to George Galloway purring his way back into Parliament

Sounds like the predictions are pointing to George Galloway purring his way back into Parliament The entire situation there is a mess, but it seems an odd choice to me. You'd think with Labour and the Tories in disarray, it'd be a chance for the Lib Dems to do well. But their candidate never seems to even get mentioned so I assume not. And you'd think that if people in Rochdale wanted to vote for an independent candidate who was very pro Gaza then they'd just have stuck with the ex-labour guy. I guess that in a very crowded field with no great candidates and the main party name not meaning much, maybe candidate name recognition becomes a bigger factor than it used to be.

Azhar Ali (on the ballot as a Labour candidate) - 2,402 Mark Coleman (Independent) - 455 Simon Danczuk (Reform UK) - 1,968 Iain Donaldson (Liberal Democrats) - 2,164 Paul Ellison (Conservative) - 3,731 George Galloway (Workers Party of Britain) - 12,335 (almost 40%) Michael Howarth (Independent) - 246 William Howarth (Independent) - 523 Guy Otten (Green) - 436 Ravin Rodent Subortna (Monster Raving Loony Party) - 209 David Anthony Tully (Independent) - 6,638 Turnout was 39.7%. I expected a higher vote for the Monster Raving Loony candidate tbh.

Perhaps it’s the shadow of Cyril Smith. That's a big shadow, too. On the one hand that makes sense given the allegations, but on the other hand you'd think people who'd previously voted Liberal would be more likely to default back to them after all this time, and what with Labour and the Tories being in disarray. Maybe the demographics have changed in the meantime, although the liberals held the seat as recently as 2005.

paul waugh was the other option for the labour spot but I guess he leaned too blairite for the local party so they went with the conspiracy spouting anti-semite instead

just thought: if they do go for may 2nd election (think unlikely) parliament will have to be dissolved by end of this month, so possible Galloway only gets a couple of weeks preening
