They've done a similar non-policy over here. May as well try and ban kids from swearing or farting.

I don’t think it’s a win as almost no parents will welcome it, and will in fact be actively angry with it.

I'd have said most would support a ban on use in class but also like the comfort blanket of their kids having phones for the journey home/out with friends etc.

It's disgraceful that the government is seeking to outlaw giving Laudanum to infants! How else is little Timmy to tolerate the carriage ride back to the manor!

Kind of hard to get excited about this kind of news when hardly anything seems to have consequences. She'll get a slap on the wrist at worst then it'll get twisted around somehow when she's suddenly the next big hope on the campaign trail.

Unless there's fully detailed minutes or a recording it won't amount to anything.

True to a point, but don't forget the Parliamentary Standards Committee has knocked out quite a few MPs through resignations or forcing recall votes etc.

Welcome to another round of; Modern Conservative Moral Bankruptcy!
Poor Kemi might have lied to Parliament. What are her options now? Fingers on your buzzers please.
A) It turns out she has lied to Parliament but our Prime Minister does nothing about it. B) There’s an enquiry which finds she lied to parliament, but our Prime Minister does nothing about it. C) There’s an enquiry and just before it publishes the findings where she has lied to parliament, she resigns as a minister and her statement decries it as a witch hunt! Our Prime Minister thanks her for her service and does nothing about it. D) There’s an enquiry and just before it publishes the findings where she is guilty, she resigns as a minister and her statement decries it as a witch hunt! Our Prime Minister thanks her for her service and makes her a dame in the next honours list.

Incidentally, Julian Assange extradition case get's heard over the next couple of days. He's currently being held in Belmarsh prison having being charged with no crime.
He's being held for exposing the war crimes of the US State and he really needs to be freed.
I know, I know, I'm a rabid leftist etc, etc...

He must have been charged with something for there to be court proceedings. I'll be honest, I stopped following the ins and outs a long time ago.

If I publicly doxxed everyone who had ever contributed to the Labour Party just before the next general election, do you think that would be ok?
What if I did the same to virtually every woman in the uk?
Let’s not pretend he’s some free speech messiah here; Wikileaks has done some truly questionable shit and he deserves to be held accountable.

He isn’t in Belmarsh because of the Wikileaks stuff. He was charged and found guilty of breaching his bail (a crime) in relation to sexual assualt charges (another crime). There is also an additional reopened rape accusation as well as the Wikileaks stuff.

These days they’ll arrest you and throw you in jail just for committing actual crime

This feels like a Monty Python sketch...
Well yeah, he's been charged and found guilty of breaching his bail (a crime) in relation to sexual assault charges (another crime). There is also an additional reopened rape accusation as well as the Wikileaks stuff.
Apart from that, though. What's he done that justifies being in Belmarsh?

Plus the extradition to the US for espionage that’s currently in the courts, he’s being held as deemed a flight risk for some reason?

I’d be careful. Not only are farmers all packing, apparently so are their mums.
