I know things will change a bit once campaigning starts for real but it does feel like a closer race than it probably is thanks to Starmer constantly looking incredibly miserable and like he’s been photoshopped into greyscale while the rest of the world around him is still in colour.
Sunak is either deluded or doesn’t care but he does seem a lot more cheerful most of the time.

Sorry to hear that, Nick - what an awful thing to have happened. I hope she's doing okay, physically and mentally. As well as can be expected for a 94 year old but she's a bit down that she is never going back to her house but the staff at the hospital have been excellent as far as I can see which has really helped. She's also ripped off her tits on painkillers and kept telling me she could see shadow people out the corner of her eye and when she shut her eyes she could see that movie zooming effect down a corridor to a door with a bright light behind it. At least I hope she is on painkillers because, damn.

Did the 999 caller advise calling a taxi or getting a lift? I've heard of people being told that if it's possible. She couldn't move. Her hip was fucked and she bruised her shoulder so it would have needed medical skills to get her shifted and lying flat. Not a service Albatross Cars can provide, sadly. That's absolutely rubbish. Is she ok as can be now?

On the one hand, I want to live forever but on the other hand absolutely fuck getting old. Seeing my dad quickly go down the pan last year was an eye opener. Whole team of medics from different departments just with absolutely no clue between them as to what the fuck was wrong. 55 absolutely no age but then the food bank stuff I do and other volunteering I've seen people rattling through an existence into their 70s, just wandering from sofa to toilet to bed.

John Crace was on form re Rishi's GBnews outing last night: www.theguardian.com/politics/2024/feb/12/rishi-uses-his-big-break-on-gb-news-to-remind-us-he-cant-connect-with-people'Housebuilding was on the mind of 19-year-old Josh from Shrewsbury. There was nowhere to live. Rish! flicked the switch marked empathy. He felt Josh’s pain. He wanted Josh to be able to buy a house like he had. All it would take was for Josh to make his first million as a hedge fund manager for Goldman Sachs betting against sterling. That was the patriotic thing to do. Josh looked understandably deflated. He got the message. He was never going to have his own home.'

Its even better than it sounds. As per usual, they did it in a half-arsed way and let any old cunt in there so a Scots Anti-Vaxxer slipped through the net and absolutely clarted him. Absolute shambles.

Saw that earlier, hilarious. We haven't even got to the actual campaign yet.

Who thought it would be a good idea to allow the "great" audience of GB News, known for their sane and balanced views, the opportunity to have unvetted questions and who in government agreed to send the PM into that lions' den?

I almost felt sorry for Sunak but I was enjoying a nutter talking absolute shite at someone who isn't up to the job of Prime Minister getting slammed on a Tory propaganda TV channel.

My mum is slightly teetering on the edge of that rabbit hole. My dad was diagnosed with cancer in March and died last month. It was pretty ‘turbo’ and has made her very susceptible to that shit.

When did Neil Oliver go massively off the deep end? I understand a lot of his absolute horseshit came around during COVID and about COVID, but was he always a fake news peddling cretin?

Lets put it this way, it probably isn't a coincidence that he landed on GB News after abruptly leaving the BBC rather than Discovery channel.

I know. It's just that he obviously kept all his fruitcake harmful shit on the dl while working for the Beeb. Or did he?

I've got a turbo cunt theory relating to GBeebies presenters. Not sure if it's a conspiracy theory mind you, just basic facts.

This Rochdale thing is a right fuck up. I can’t believe George fucking Galloway has a route back to actual politics.
But hey, there’s no problem with antisemitism on the Left right guys?

Sorry to hear man. My old flatmate’s dad was similar when his mam died. I think it was just making sure he did get himself too isolated and being there to help steer him around the rabbit holds that kept him straight. He did come out of it himself. Hopefully your mum is the same and its just the shock of it all putting her off balance.

That Sunak Town Hall was sooo painful. That Scottish vaccine conspiracy nut was a hoot (also should he be hating on Sturgeon, who controlled NHS in Scotland?). I can understand them saying they weren't going to pre vet questions, but even a little bit of background of the individual would have uncovered that...

Not sure he is necessarily a conspiracy nut, there were a lot of people that had serious side effects from the covid vaccine. I work with a lady that lost most of her hearing after getting her jab, they thought it was temporary at first but it proved not the case. It's cost her a very well paid job and livelihood. She doesn't make a massive deal or shout about it but it's completely changed her life.

Has she been told it’s vaccine related? I'm not sure as I don't like to probe it as it's quite a painful thing for her to talk about. She was told that it was likely temporary at the time but that wasn't the case sadly There has been other research into it but it's not proved conclusive either way and the number of reported cases aren't that high so it won't get much investigation. www.hear4u.co.uk/are-covid-vaccines-linked-to-hearing-problems/
