I had a Switch for a very short period, maybe about 6 weeks, but I never ever docked it, I just didn't like the look of those graphics blown up.

It's genuinely 50/50 for me and is entirely dependant on the game. Games like Rocket League and Splatoon are almost always on the TV, but anything slower than that can go either way, like Zelda or Mario. Puzzle games and platformers are great in portable mode with some headphones.

Zelda SS is the only game I played fully docked.
Zelda BotW, Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade Chronicles were a mixture of docked and Portable.
Everything else is pretty much portable only.

Docked all the way tbh. 1. I want to use my Pro Controller. 2. I can barely read the UI text in Diablo 3 unless it's on the TV.

The only thing I've ever played docked is Ring Fit Adventure. Everything else is 100% hand-held.

Docked only. Handheld is for midgets with tiny little claw hands. My big hairy ape hands are built for other things.

I never used to dock mine, if I am playing on a TV I use a "proper" console. So ended up selling mine and buying the lite.
Ps5 for TV, switch lite as vita replacement

I take it in my hands and I grip it and I move my fingers up and down and when I’ve reached the peak of my satisfaction I let go and am spent.
I also play it docked, depends on whether the TV is taken or not.
6/10 for the thread. 0/10 for the poll, there’s no fitting answer.

I have very rarely used mine as a handheld. It is almost always exclusively docked, except when I go on a long train journey. Then it is slotted into a stand and still played with the pro controller.

99.9% handheld. I like that I can just pick it up and play. TV is usually taken anyway, plus I can go and sit wherever I want.

Pretty much 100% docked for me (not that I play it much, it's my least used of the three consoles)
It was nice just sitting in the garden playing one sunny afternoon. Then I stopped after 5 mins because I couldn't see a fucking thing due to glare.
I reckon I'd play the shit out of it if I had a commute on a train though.

The only thing I've ever played docked is Ring Fit Adventure. Everything else is 100% hand-held. Pretty much identical to me. If I'm playing the Switch it's usually because the TV is in use for something else, or I'm playing it on the move.

Mixture of the two for me. Like Dave I play games like Rocket league docked and mix it up depending on the type of game

Mine used to be exclusively handheld but now the kids are getting more into gaming it's becoming an even split.
I don't know if it's just a psychological thing from the N64 days, but Nintendo machines always feel better geared up to couch multiplayer than other consoles.

Docked for the vast majority of the time. Only really use it handheld when we are away.

I have a lite. Was ready to go for the "pro" until it never happened. Love my lite and in some ways it is perfect. However I do miss the option of not being able to Dock it at home.

I’ve only docked a handful of times, I might a bit more in the future as I’ve moved all my consoles into my office to use the same screen when I’m on a break or straight after work. It was never getting used in the lounge.

I mostly play on the Switch when the missus is watching Grey's Anatomy or something, so it's almost exclusively handheld. Apart from multiplayer games like Mario Kart, I reckon I've only played in docked mode half a dozen times at the most.
TBH if I'm sat in front of the telly and I want to play a game, I'll go on the Xbox.

When I first got it I mostly played handheld, more recently I play it with my kid so we have it docked on Big Telly.
