Managed to go into an Asda, but no luck. Not even any sign that they were selling stuff off. Loads of switch games still £40.

I got an email from Humble about resubscribing for 3 months at half price. This month's selection has me somewhat interested, so I could bite... but from the wording, it sounds like if I subscribe now, I will only get the games starting from the July bundle? Is that correct?

This Fanatical bundle is tempting just for Rebel Galaxy Outlaw, although it's currently very slightly cheaper on GOG. Can't work out if there are 2 other games I want though. Dark Future would appeal, but I already have that one. (it was ok, not amazing, back when I tried it). www.fanatical.com/en/pick-and-mix/build-your-own-headliner-bundle$4.99 for 3 games, etc.. Maybe I'll wait for them to bundle it again... or maybe try Chorvs on Game Pass...

I was quite disappointed by Rebel Galaxy Outlaw. It has the production values, but somehow it feels a bit bland.

I think even the ship upgrades were bland? Here are three engines, one of which is slightly better than the others...
I have to say that I (and I presume Zagibu) are in a very small minority here though. Others seem to love it.

Yeah, it SHOULD be good, the space combat is actually quite fun, it has a decent selection of ships and weapon systems, voiced story missions with interesting characters, you can build your own starbase, etc.
I'm not exactly sure why, but it just didn't manage to grab me. It started to feel like busywork pretty fast and after I had the best ship and equipment, I couldn't really motivate me to progress the story.

I was going to reiterate that Zagibu and I are in the minority, but I just read the PC Gamer and PRS reviews, and reading between the lines, they were pretty underwhelmed too, so maybe we're not outliers!
I enjoyed the first one a lot.

I have a discount code from GOG that gives you historic-low discounts (for GOG) on Thunder Lotus games: Jotun, Sundered (85% off) and Spiritfarer (72% off). Spiritfarer is one I'm sure you're all familiar with, one of the best games I've ever played and worth it at any price. Sundered is a strange roguelike/metroidvania hybrid, a solid, well-crafted game that makes some very interesting design decisions, which puts it squarely in 'acquired taste' territory. Recommended if you like weird twists on the roguelike formula. Jotun is a top-down action game that's just as pretty as the others, but I didn't enjoy playing it, so I wouldn't recommend it. Redeem the code via this link. You can click 'Continue' and it'll show you the discounts for the games you don't already own, but if you decide not to use it, please then click 'Cancel' so that the code becomes available again.

(PC) Lego at the movies humble bundle is a good way to pick up Lego Marvel Superheroes 1 for $1. The higher tiers may be worth it if you're gonna play a lot of lego games, though these days the BTA is always so close to the top tier that it's kinda irrelevant. www.humblebundle.com/games/at-movies-with-lego

Opinions here were mixed, but I'm still tempted by Rebel Galaxy Outlaw, and it is in a cheaper fanatical bundle at the moment $2.99 for 3 games from the following: - FAR - Lone sails (this looks good) - Rebel Galaxy Outlaw - Aragami - Shadow Tactics (supposed to be good, but was an epic giveaway i think) - Mindustry (?) - Slain: Back From Hell - Wayward Souls (?) - Bridge Constructor - the walking dead (maybe epic giveaway?) - Morbid - the seven acolytes (??) I'll probably grab this for RGO and FAR. Anyone have any recommendations from the others? www.fanatical.com/en/pick-and-mix/build-your-own-triple-pack

Anyone have any recommendations from the others? Mindustry is supposed to be really, really good, though it probably depends a lot on how you take to a Factorio lite/tower defence hybrid. I played it for 2 mins, though I will go back...at some stage 👀👀

Slain should be similar to Valfaris, as it was made before that by the same guy. I've read it's a bit rough around the edges, but I've really enjoyed Valfaris, so I'll probably give Slain a spin, too, at some point.

Paul Spooner apparently got somewhat obsessed with it for a while. He talked about it on the Diecast at some point. As said, kind of Factorio-esque.

Has anyone played the 8-bit Armies / Hordes / Invaders games? It’s the last day of the Xbox sale and I’m tempted because they’re crazy cheap (£2.67 each). I didn’t mind the controls on whatever C&C game came to Xbox 360, but I haven’t played a console RTS since then.

still tempted by Rebel Galaxy Outlaw I liked it and still have it installed - that said, I still have it installed as I never finished it. Fairly by the numbers Privateer/Freelancer affair with a fairly original vibe/art/approach. It works for a good while until it all gets a bit samey and you drift off to other games.

It's really good in co-op. Friend and I played through it during the first lockdown. Definitely worth it if you can find someone.

Aragami? I wasn't even aware it had co-op. Actually, I rarely play anything other than co-op these days, as the only chance I get to play games tends to be with the kids. So I guess it might depend how much neck-slicing there is. I picked up the bundle with Aragami, on the basis that Mindustry looked waaay too hard for me, and that in reality I'd probably never actually play Slain, Wayward Souls or Morbid, despite them all looking decent enough.

Humble has a Telltale Walking Dead bundle that seems like a reasonable deal. $1 will get you the first 2 seasons. Season 1 has been that cheap before, but not season 2 iirc. BTA (about $8) will get you all 4 seasons plus the Michone spinoff. $11 will get you what seems to be a remastered version of all of those, plus some other (VR?) game that I don't know. I've only played Season 1, but I really liked it and always meant to grab at least the 2nd season. www.humblebundle.com/games/walking-dead-10th-anniversary-bundle

Far Cry 6 is free to play starting today until the 8th pretty much everywhere. Might dip in over the weekend... Younger me would've taken this as a challenge to beat the damn thing
