I played my one of these for probably 20 minutes and it is indeed in the attic now. Good value though, I think mine was 70 EUR or something.

Gog has some good games for literal pennies right now:
- Avencast - Rise of the Mage: It's an ARPG with WASD-controls that is a bit more about movement than most of them. About 15+ hours long and it doesn't have much replayability, but the visuals are nice enough and the spell selection was also interesting enough for that one playthrough.

Surprisingly Weird West is already 25 % off at 29,99 €.
And Shadow Warrior 3 even by 40 % for 26,99 €. The other Shadow Warrior-games are quite cheap right now (on steam).
Ruiner for 3,99 €. Gris for a similar price.

The standard version of the original Dying Light is getting upgraded to the super mega ultimate edition for free. Say what you like about the buggy state Techland games launch in, but this has been an impressive bit of support for the game.

I already have the complete editions of DL1 on ps4/xboxone but this is a great "reward" from them. I just wish DL2 was half the game of the original.

It's a Slitherine sale, but really weird mashup of games, plus DLC for games that aren't on sale. Might be something there worth checking out.
Vietnam 65 was short and sweet; the only issue I had with it was that once I hit on a winning strategy, I didn't feel like playing it any differently; there are apparently several winning strategies to discover.
Vietnam '65 (PC)This is a light turn-based strategy game, and really consists of one randomised map which you're supposed to play multiple times. I generally like to finish games and move on, so this has been a fairly novel experience. I have a whole slew of these beer & pretzel-type wargames lined up to play, and I bet skirmish mode features heavily, so it's gonna be weird. In Vietnam '65 your HQ is plonked down on the east side of a map with ten villages, a river, partial roads, and lots of jungle. You have Political Points which is your political capital, with which you can buy men and armour. You also have a Hearts & Minds score, which moves up an down, towards the US or the North Vietnamese. You add to that score by keeping the Viet Cong and the NVA out of the villages, by clearing mines, and by eliminating threats. The score decreases if the enemy gains a foothold in the villages. You locate the enemy by visiting the villages and winning hearts and minds, and in return they will sometimes give you intel which reveals VC or NVA troops on the map. You have to keep your troops in supply, and ensure your Hueys (used for transport, not combat) have enough fuel etc. It's very much a game of managing logistics and balancing decisions like whether you should buy a Huey and some cheap infantry, or that shiny attack helicopter or tank. All the while, you have to push from west to east with your engineers and set up FBOs and Firebases. If you don't keep a lid on the village situation, the NVA will invade from the west with armour.
It was co-developed for mobile, so the interface is a bit mobile-horror, and there is no Undo button - misclicking is common when you're learning the game, but less so as you go on:
Scouting is very restricted, and the guerilla warfare of the Vietnamese is nicely represented by them emerging suddenly from the Ho Chi Minh Trail and taking a pop at your troops or helicopters. Once they strike, they then disperse and melt back into the jungle, so you can't retaliate against that particular cadre. Instead you have to use your intelligence to reveal positions and try and make sure that you can cover a large area of the map with airstrikes and artillery. Overall I had a very good time with it. Your ongoing progress is tracked via medals (achievements) you win, and these are added to your uniform after every game. I don't know now whether I'll move on, or keep dipping in from time to time.

Thymesia may be of interest to the SoulsBourne-brigade. Apparently coming in August. Doesn't really fit here, but I don't think we have a thread for "coming soon", have we?

I was actually going to make a thread for it before I realised I couldn't be arsed. Looks pretty decent actually but weirdly I think I'm approaching soulsborne burnout. So it will have to be very special indeed to bother with.

Currently good flash deal over on gog for Tides of Numenera. For 25 more hours. Pretty good text-heavy RPG.

The $10 tier of the Handheld bundle on Humble includes Parkasaurus, which is an all time low. not by much (about $2.50), but it also includes a few other games that look decent. The upper tier might be ok too, but I'm only really interested in Parkasaurus. Not that I've played it, but reviews seem ok. www.humblebundle.com/games/handheld-pc-power-bundlePS/ Shouldn't actually need a handheld to play them.

Silt has become available on gog. Looking interesting. Inevitable comparisons to Limbo/Inside. But I haven't really looked at reviews. Would be too spoilery for something like this I think.

Alice Bee did one of her typical reviews where she lists a ton of things she doesn't like about the game then says at the end that it's actually OK. It has spoilers too. I played the demo and quite enjoyed it. Definitely a bit Limbo/Inside in atmosphere but it's underwater and you can possess fish so it's different enough to be its own thing.

EA has a End of Spring-sale on steam. Some of the usual offers like the Dragon Ages, but Dragon Age II has already been cheaper.

Saw Metroid Dread and Pokémon Snap on Switch down to £20 at a local Asda so may be worth a look (I already had Metroid but the wife grabbed Snap).
Game had some Switch clearance stuff in store too but likely long sold out as I only managed to find No More Heroes III a few weeks ago.
