I believe they've turned off the ability to add these codes to do this trick. I think it's something like you can only join for a month. They released some bullshit press release to say they were 'working behind the scenes to fix things' before the official roll out in June so you can't apply any codes before then.

It's worked for me just yesterday. It's confusing but you just can't currently stack anything on to your subscription. If you already have a PS Now/PS+ subscription, you can't redeem a code, but if you're not a subscriber, it does let you become one to either service.
I think they said subscribers of both will get the highest tier of PS+ for whichever is the longest of their membership, so since I have PS+ for some years, the hope is redeeming PS Now will bump me up. Again, not certain it will work since Sony could just say "subscribers after X date can suck a fat one" but by the wording I should be alright
It also gave me a chance to look at PS Now and wow, the offering is dire.

I just took a gamble via Gamivo (absolute faff but got the code in the end)- yep, I’m now a PSNow subscriber and, yep once again, it looks absolutely shite. Worth it if Rodge gives me his top tier service next month though obviously.

Been playing a bit of Death’s Door and it makes pretty good use of the Haptics. It’s been pretty subtle in use in combat but just done a segment where it has a really satisfying rumble in time with the music/platforming segments. Thought i prefer on the switch (yes brought both versions) but I’d probably recommend the ps5 version.

What's the difference in content between Now and Gamepass apart from 1st party content?

They really make this shit confusing. I still don't really understand what Now is but I certainly thought it was a lesser tier than plus. But obviously not

Went to enable VRR and it's saying my TV can't do it. It's a brand new 120 Hz Sony Bravia I bought specifically to go with my PS5 FFS.

OK will have to look into it.
Edit: Got it working now. Had to enable VRR for the HDMI input on the telly.

I've said before, Sony's many divisions don't talk to each other. For sure my next TV will be either LG or Samsung, cause I can't deal with this one 2.1 port and an eARC port shit anymore.

So Eneba/Gamivo are still selling PS Now codes, 3 months for around £25. If you don't have an active PS Now subscription, you can redeem the voucher and still get PS Now. Whether this will work for upgrading you to the highest tier of the new PS+ when it rolls out, I can't say for sure but it does seem like it should since I now have a 3 month PS Now subscription and a PS+ subscription. If you go for it make sure to deselect all the subscriptions and faff they try to sign you up to when ordering. I gave this a gamble as well as have never had Now before. Sadly, I didn't get the last cheap PSPlus extension on sale so only got that until November '23.

Yeah Sony TV's haven't really been great in keeping pace with what the consoles are doing. It's absolutely ridiculous.

caught a typo in that quote, meant LG or Samsung. But the general point was understood, thankfully

Yeah I've had several compatibility issues with my Bravia. Couldn't get a Bose soundbar to work with it, so bought a Sony one and even that was a pain the arse to hook up. The Bravia also won't play mkv files directly, which really razzes me off as I torrent all my shows and that's the most popular file format.

Maybe Sony Pictures have had a word! Might be more Comms than you think!

Trek to Yomi reviews are out, and it sounds a bit... meh. 7/10 from IGN and Push Square; 5/10 from Gamespot.

Skillup gave it a recommendation, I've played about 30 mins of it on gamepass and had quite a good time with it. It's got a lovely visual style but the combat feels a bit basic, however you seem to learn new stuff quite quickly so that will open up.
It's on gamepass which is a definite bonus as well

Yeah the combat looked pretty bad from the few videos I watched. That repeated overhand slash thing he does looks a bit shit.

You start off with 3 combos which are down X,X up X,X and X,X. You quickly unlock a throwing star and an X,X,Y combo. Judging by the first boss you meet there will be quite a few new things along the way.
Someone else will be able to give better early impressions than me though as I probably won't get back on it before Saturday morning.

Does anyone know what might cause green flickering pixels appearing randomly from time to time? Removing the hdmi cable and plugging it back in normally resolves it, but sometimes not.
Had the problem since getting the PS5 really, but mostly isn't noticeable outside of dark scenes and is pretty intermittent. Don't think it has gotten any worse, but have been noticing it a few times whilst recently playing Last of Us 2.

Just on the ps5 or other content? Change the cable if the former.

Re Trek to Yomi, the "basic" combat was a common theme of the reviews I've read; apparently there *are* unlockable skills, but you can beat all the enemies just by parrying and riposting, which makes them fairly pointless.

Nah, it's just going into an AV reciever. And only getting it with the PS5
I expect it is just the HDMI cable, as it looks like what you might get from a loose connection. Bit rubbish seeing as it is the cable that came with it.
I'll try a different cable.

Get a premium certified 2.1 and you're golden. My AVR isn't 2.1 do having to connect directly and lose out on some audio formats.

Yeah, the cable that comes with the PS5 is fine on its own, but anything more complicated than that and green pixels everywhere.
FWIW, I have the PS5 going to the PSVR unit going into a switch going into a splitter and going into TV all with cheapo but fairly solid cables and no green dots, so it can be done without breaking the bank.
Edit: keep in mind the PSVR thingy severely limits the signal (it’s the 1st gen one, too) so that may be the secret of my success.

If new cable is the same try putting into a different port on the AV Receiver in case that's the culprit. Most will have 4+ to toy around with.

DougsThis may help you with unsupported audio formats if you're talking about an eARC tv and ARC only AV receiver.

Cheers dude, yes, I have seen that and have been pondering giving it a go. I was mostly trying to get my head around how I'd hook it all up!
