Anyone playing this? It's a Slay The Spire-esque roguelite run-based deckbuilder, with a generous helping of tower defence.
Though objectively it's probably not as deep or difficult as StS, I think I like it more. It's got more polish and character, and doesn't look like arse. And it's out on Switch now as well, so you can do it portably! Go get it! It's great!
(I put it in general gaming because it is technically also on non-Switch platforms. But really, why would you, this is perfect for portable play)

I’ve finished it with all the clans and most combos. Covenant 7 or so? It’s good and it made a nice change from StS for a while but it’s not as good or as deep as that. Still worth a play though.

Yeah I don't think it's got as much depth. But not everything has to; it's still heaps of fun experimenting with all the clans and champions and such.
I wish the campaign were a little longer, but even so I'm having a blast. Just unlocked the third clan, but I might keep going with the first two just to get a bit more settled.

Keep going the Umbra and particularly the Melting Remnant are really interesting.

I put 35 hours of play into it and after that I felt like I'd seen most of the stuff it had to offer. Very cool atmosphere and a fun twist.

Keep going the Umbra and particularly the Melting Remnant are really interesting. Glol, you weren't kidding about the Umbra. I feel like I broke the game with those Venom buddies. Get artifact that gives edible creatures Damage Shield Put shielded edibles down with mini-Venom champion on the bottom level Get another unit that auto-eats edible creatures, put him on the top level to eat anything not needed for tanking on the bottom Get ANOTHER unit that doubles edible creatures when you summon them Duplicate that unit, sacrifice the duplicate to give his doubling-powers to your DPS freak, put the other on the bottom with mini-Venom Watch as your guys eat everything and barely take damage, eating themselves to more and more strength every turn Win. I even beat the superboss with barely a sweat. It's definitely easier than Slay the Spire, but I loooooove how powerful it makes you feel when you break the game over your knee.

I got crazy addicted to this on steam last year, pumped about 200 hours into it trying to beat it on covenant 25. Is the perfect size, only takes about 45 mins for a game and the randomness of your drops can take you in you wildly different directions.
Not sold on the dlc though, maybe I haven’t played it enough as I was pretty burnt out on it but it doesn’t really add much and I didn’t click with the wurmkin clan.
Worth a buy though, can imagine it would be a great fit for the switch.

I never played it without the DLC, but from what I can tell it adds more units to the existing clans, a whole separate clan, a superboss, and a system where you can sacrifice creatures to give their powers to other creatures. That last one in particular is really cool, and adds a whole bunch of potential options. So yeah... I don't know how much the DLC was when it came out, but it feels like there's a whole lot of content there. And it is perfect for the Switch! But I guess if people already have it on Steam, they might prefer to wait until 2025 when they can get a Steam deck.

The dlc added the runes which are a brilliant risk/reward mechanic as each one you take makes the game harder.
I've played loads of it and done covenant 25 bit mostly play the daily now to try and get as good a score as possible
