Cheers for the advice. Thats exactly what I've done. Its just not having it. My consoles don't have anything queued up or in the library. When it asks me to pick which of my consoles to download on, it claims to be downloading to the series x (my primary console), and selecting the one x additionally seems to have no effect. I've restarted both consoles and still nothing.
I could contact support, but by the time they get back to me the beta will likely have ended.
Its all good. Just a shame, really.

I'm trying to play the free trial on xbox one but keep getting an off piste error message about connection errors.

I found myself unexpectedly sucked in to this game last night. There’s a really nice rhythm to riding around, completing the normal events and then rushing back to the mass participation online events when they pop up.
The trick system is a bit clunky and I find myself accidentally triggering tricks in bike races as I’m pretty much always pulling the right trigger to accelerate. There’s some unnatural finger gymnastics required to independently control your rotation and tricks which I’m not sure will ever feel as good as THPS, but it’s pretty satisfying to cleanly land big tricks when using the manual landing mode.
I wish this was on steam, as it would be the perfect game to jump into quick multiplayer sessions with friends. That’s just not going to happen on Epic.

How is it compared to Steep? I like the idea of mountain biking but its always been a very quick pick up and play game since I picked it up earlier in the year. Its like the perfect demo disc game.

I didn’t play Steep, but the bike racing is fun. There’s no manualling, which would have been a nice mechanic to play with, but otherwise it pretty much controls and feels how I’d want a mtb game to feel.

Yeah, the bike stuff’s a bit off- offroad, being able to tilt your weight front and back is as critical as just steering. It’s a limitation that’ll really bug me.

I get why they omitted that bough. The controls already feel a bit overloaded and the addition of fore / aft balancing would have been really difficult to manage at the speed the races move.

How is it compared to Steep? I like the idea of mountain biking but its always been a very quick pick up and play game since I picked it up earlier in the year. Its like the perfect demo disc game. I think it shares the confusing (for me) progression system of Steep. Getting around the mountain, navigating to the event you want or understanding simply what you have to do next to progress. I also think the controls overall are ‘passable’ but not intuitive. It’s sub £30 fodder for me as usually an Ubisoft game hits the bargain bins not too long after release. I’ll enjoy it then. |

I quite enjoyed the beta and would've jumped back in for the trial week if they hadn't pulled that 4 hour nonsense. It's definitely on my list to pick up at some point, anyway. (just not so close to Forza)
It's obviously very similar to Steep in many ways, but the controls can be quite different. I'd say it's a fairly safe recommendation if you enjoyed Steep.
First person view is great for a sense of speed when you're bombing it downhill.

I was playing the trial for 30 mins and the server went down. It knocked my timer down to 0 and I couldn't play any more  |

This is reduced on the ps sale. Is anyone still playing it? I quite enjoyed the demo but I'm not sure what the longevity of the game is like.
Any thought?

Got it for Christmas, so will get stuck in at some point this week. It kind of felt like I'd seen most of it when I played the alpha, so curious how much life I'll get out of it now.

I’m still tempted by it. I think it’d be a good thing to just chip away at over time, but I already have a lot to play so adding something long-term time-consuming probably isn’t a good idea.

Picked this up in the sale. Only an hour or so in, but impressed. Agree with above that the bike handling is a bit off, feels a little GTA, which is a shame as I mainly brought it for that, but the snow stuff is more fun than i though. So swings and roundabouts. Switching stances is kinda sexy.
The bike handling bike just be something you get used to though or improves as you unlock better gear.
Can see myself just picking it up here and there and slowly ticking off all those Ubisoft icons.
