The baffle on my bird feeder cracked from the heat a year ago and I decided to just let them have at it. The cheeky bastards used to take running jumps from the fence, was funny watching them miss for a while. They’ve earned a few nuts imo

I've started seriously looking at traps and rifles to dispatch the grey manace. Lots of regs to comply with, but essentially you can kill them if they are a nuisance, and since they are wrecking the garden and hassling the wild bird population I think its fair game.

I’m sure that my harvesting all the freshly dropped chestnuts from our tree has in some way contributed to the decrease in the squirrel population this winter.
Now, if only I could find a way to get rid of the fat pigeons.

All this hatred of the greys is just typical British xenophobia tbh. They’ve been here long enough to earn their place. Also Darwinism suggests if they’ve supplanted reds, the reds were never good enough in the first place.
