Marathon, Marathon 2 and Marathon Infinity are free on Steam for the time being, to promote the launch of the reboot.

I know a lot of people love the marathon games. People always bring them up as being better than Doom and ahead of their time. But I could never really get into them. Maybe i came to them too late.
Can't complain at free anyway.
Ps/ not free, but i think the heretic/hexen pack is on sale for 99p at the moment on steam. For people into retro shooters.

Dragon Age Inquisition GOTY is currently free on Epic Store.
(They're having a sale, so there are also a few other add-on giveaways for games like Fortnite, Fall Guys etc.. on the epic store / launcher)

Lots of Monster Hunters in current Humble bundle. Never played one so think rude not to try in this instance.

Also grabbed that. I actually own Rise on Switch, but haven't really touched it, except the tutorial. It was something I was meaning to co-op with a friend, but never could get a clear answer on whether it was something you should play solo for a bit to get a decent character before jumping into multiplayer or if you should go straight into the co-op missions as soon as you could.
Also did dabble with World a little through PS+ and quite enjoyed it, but glad to have it on PC, as the PS4 version looked quite low res (as did Rise on Switch, of course).

MH is a game best enjoyed coop, but play it anyway you want. The communist great, and will carry you if you need.

I seem to remember Rise is a bit more like the old games compared to World, right? Or am I getting confused with Generations Ultimate?

"which one is that?" - Traditional refrain upon mention of 40k game. Psst! It's the 4x one! Actually, I did pick this one up last time it was free and actually played a small bit (!). It seemed decent to me, although I'm not a 4x aficionado. It's all planetside, rather than being something like Stellaris. So it's a bit like Civ, but much more combat focussed. (Reminded me of that Warlock - Master of the Arcane game) As I tend to do with 4x games, I spent about 3 days playing through the tutorial mission, just about picked up the basics of how all the systems and resources work, then didn't get a chance to play it for a few weeks and promptly forgot all that, so I never went back to it. It's definitely worth grabbing for free. PS/ Talisman has also gone permanently F2P recently. (seems there's a new one incoming, no idea why!). It's as great/flawed as the OG boardgame, although there is a crazy amount of DLC for it. Be warned that games can take hours!
[edit]: Both Gladius and Talisman suffer from too much DLC. Too many things that should be in the gladius base game (factions and units) need to be bought separately. The complete pack is 90 quid! (though of course you don't need most of it).
There are a couple of decent prices on 40k games, or bundles though. Boltgun bundled with Space Marine if you already own that one saves an extra quid. Deathwing down to 3.75* seems like an all time low to me, and bundled with Hired Gun might save a bit more. Too much stuff though...
*down to 2.70 on greenmangaming which is definitely an all time low.

If you have Prime (which I don't), Bramble - The Mountain King is free. Heard it was pretty good.

Soon it'll be shorter to list the places that *don't* have Gladius free

Yeah, I thought that I had seen it for free before. Who knows, perhaps I already have it somewhere.
Edit: And I only just saw minimatt's post right now...

It is/was free on Steam, Epic and GOG this week. Dunno if they are all still doing it. Grab it everywhere!

I bought that in a sale a few years ago (correction, maybe a year ago? Idk), then promptly forgot about it. Finally got around to playing it earlier this year.
Really shouldn't buy anything unless I'm going to play it straight away.

I played about half of it about a year ago and liked it a lot. The battles were really good fun. The social/exploration bits in-between missions was a lot, too much, and I can see that grating for many people, but it had its moments.
It's a game I've been meaning to go back to.

Solar Vengeance has been free since a long time ago. There are supposedly newer versions, but the website has gone offline.

Redout 2 is also free directly from Epic. (and some idle game junk that I won't even bother mentioning. Though I will mention that I'm not bothering mentioning it.)

Been looking at the Free page on GOG and it occurs to me that despite it being in my library for years, I've never actually gotten around to playing Flight Of The Amazon Queen.

Just watched Grim Beard talking about the demos he has tried during Next Fest and while looking at "Mouthwashing" it turned out that the other game of the developer How fish is made is free.
