Finished this last night with bots/synths. The final battle was difficult. Realised that the amount of heavy xenos in the late stages means that the pea shooter Smart Gun needed to be chucked for a flame thrower and took a ton of sentries, cryos and vulnerability scanners just to be sure. Was disappointed there was no cut scene at the end. Have maxed out my demo class. May pop back to Isolation now before I restart, interested to see it running at 60FPS on the Series X and never played the DLC at the time. Isolation is amazing on the Series X. |

I had two humans and the three of us ended up plonking down about 12 sentries just to keep on top of them. |

Gulp… ‘heavy’ xenos? The warrior/alpha are tough enough.
Glad I never experienced the level 1 weapons. The smart gun at level 4 is pretty pap until close-quarters

I tried the demolisher last night for the first time and popped the new minigun on. It's good fun but fuck all ammo means I'm just going to stick with my gunner. What's the point in giving me a big fuck off gun that's got shit accuracy so I can only use it once or twice in each mission? I haven't tried the minimum but did the campaign with Demo and either Smart Gun or Heavy Flamer. Basically the heavy comes out for the swarm sections, any corridor bits I pulse rifle it. Wot ‘e sed. Smart gun fall-off is pretty severe |

Check out the M12 Grenade Launcher, especially maxed out. Just be careful with the friendly fire.

Maxed out my technician last night. That flamethrower turret is awesome and the final mod to turn the turret into a bomb is pretty cool too.
Tech really isn't a great class to play with randoms though. I just about get myself fortified, and my cohorts just leg it off to get themselves killed!

Yeah I think they gave everyone a bunch of free ones tied to XP and Credits as a sorry for the shaky launch.

Anyone got this on Xbox and want to run through some of the new content?
I've been meaning to run through the campaign on Intense but if we get a good team, why not go after the Extreme achievements.
I've tried the new point defense modes but it really sucks with randoms, be nice to try those as well.

Is there new content? Might try again if player count has increased again. i got most of the way through on easiest level and was enjoying it, then the player base dropped right off.
The bots don't help so much. Real players definitely help it along.

It really comes alive on Intense difficulty and above (because friendly fire is turned on). It forces every player to work as a team and communicate, and have roles like point, left and right side. Flame throwers and M12 grenade launchers are no longer easy wins, because you'll BBQ your teammates. And you have to make proper use of the abilities grid.
I'm not joking, it was actually half decent. Especially if you read the prequel book to understand what the f is going on and where you are lol. I listened to the Audible, its actually not bad fan fic and leaves us directly where the game picks up, with Dr Honniker hiding on board the Katanga.
There was actually a fully fleshed out story for the game but it does a terrible job of telling it just in game (via the intel drops).

Today is Alien Day, and to celebrate if you talk to Staff Sergeant Park in the Armory you can pick up a free Close Encounters acid damaged weapon skin.

Had an absolute nightmare with this last night trying to play with a couple of friends via crossplay. Had no problems at the weekend but had all kinds of fuckery trying to join a party, video memory errors and then just not even being able to join their game without being kicked back to an empty hangar on my tod. Immensely frustrating not helped by the Xbox app being very unresponsive.

That's a shame man. Hopefully it was just a blip, particularly since it was okay for you the other day. Annoying.
Crossplay so far - for me - is a dream. Granted I'm not trying to matchmake with anyone specific but it's such a joy now to just jump into games and find other people straight away. Seems to be mainly PC players I meet, with the odd PSN chap. No Xboxers as yet.
