If you're going down the middle you have to either go down the actual middle or lift it a bit or hit it without that much pace so the keeper dives away. To hit it at keeper height just to the side of centre. You're basically saying if the keeper goes that way he gets something on it. Such a bad pen.

Feel for Ramsay, tbh. Clearly a class player, but age and injury have done a number on him. Seems harsh that he'll be the name they remember fucking it.

Yeah, absolutely. I guess the thinking is that his experience may help, but penalties are a fucking lottery. Sure, if you're playing and bossing it, you feel confident; but recovering from injury, barely playing, then the weight of fucking up ... rough, man.

Just watching on German telly the scenes from Frankfurt’s stadium , 55.000 fans going utterly mental watching the big screen  There was an interview with the Club President who seemed great, humble, genuine and funny, not the standard , arrogant suit. |

Kent and Lundstram bottled it - supposed icons never turned up, and Kent's miss was an absolute sitter. Only Bassey turned up on the night for the Rangers really.
I thought Frankfurt were pretty poor really - particularly Knauff and Kamada - and looked very tired from 75 minutes on. Kostic and Rode were tidy though.
Was the ref just there for the vibes? Not even a talking to for the Lundstram challenge? Missed a clear penalty for Frankfurt? Some man.

Happened in the Euro final, England's last minute subs missed their pens. Maybe it's statistically the best play but it's backfired in two high profile finals now. |

I thought they'd done a deal with the devil to win this... then the referee missed a clear penalty during play (WITH VAR) so when they got first penalty AND shooting into their own end in the shoot out, I was sure it was written.

It seemed a bit unfair that had their own end and got to go first. I would have thought if you win the toss you get to choose one or the other.
