I genuinely love you Frog (as you know), and I know Ecosse winds you up, but there are a lot of genuine sectarian terms for protestants in Scotland (just as there are, if not more, for Catholics) regardless of their particular team of choice. Those attempts in relation to that particular term, which I do recall, were fairly short lived and suffered from being headed up by some very partisan individuals.
All for calling out sectarianism, which is an absolute blight on Scottish society, not just football. This just isn't it, I think.

Like I said I will bow to your greater knowledge if it's incorrect it's just based on something I had read a while back. Seems a lot of Rangers fans find it offensive but Celtic fans don't think it is.

Sectarianism is one of the reasons I’m so glad to be the fuck away from Scotland . I wouldn’t use any term that is sectarian as I detest that Neanderthal shite.

Think Bassey has been the proper stand out for Rangers, really solid performance. It's been a low-quality game, but I imagine both teams will feel hard done by to lose it.
Still got that feeling, penalties or no, that Rangers are going to sneak it.

Given most of scotland would basically be classed as protestant, despite pretty much no-one giving a monkeys about religion these days, it would surely also be directed at other teams if so. It's not. It's strictly applied to the blue cheek of the old firm arse only. Not to any other team. |
