As mentioned keepers are expected to take part in the start of transition, effectively becoming a ball playing defender at that stage, not sure at De Gea's age he can make that change. I wouldn't extend his contract myself, it such a big way teams play these days, as such shot stoppers only are a dying breed. Hard decision, but Pep made it when he replaced Hart with Ederson. Watch a lot of Celtic and Hart still drops some clangers to this day but has got slightly better in his defence, but then we play the likes of Ross County Claudio Bravo disappearing from history altogether.

Maguire suits a defence with 3 cb's like England. He'd be best off going to a club that plays that way. The defence of his defending a pundit on 5Live had once was that he is a good player for England because Walker can make up for his lack of pace and Stones can cover for him positionally. I’m not sure it was the defence was as robust as they thought they were making to say he’s slow and lacks awareness of the play around him. Although it is true he is weak in those areas.

He is fine for England because they play shite teams most of the time, and against good teams they play such a defensive system with so many defensive players on the park that it covers his shitness.

Oh and he ran towards a burning helicopter crash.
Towards.
That's someone you want on your team.

I think the first goal was probably equal parts De Gea and Maguire's fault. It's a fine pass from De Gea, and in an ideal world the defender lets the ball run, he moves the ball forward and we attack. But he has to know Maguire is far from being able to make plays like that. Fair enough, his captain called for it, so he did it. But he really shouldn't have.

Although ran away from the burning wreckage of the club itself.
Edit: poor taste probably but we have a WhatsApp group vibe in here no?

If Sancho wasn't English he'd be the most expensive flop of all time. Look at the dogs abuse Anthony gets and he has been ten times better than Sancho.
English bias really is pathetic

English bias really is pathetic Second highest earner at the club too. Will certainly go down as one of our most embarrassing transfers unless he picks it up next season. Obviously on that pay he's not going to go anywhere, unless he becomes one of our serial loaners where we pay the entire wage.

English bias tends to work against players imo. I think Sancho is a bit of an exception because everyone’s literally forgotten he exists.

He's obviously got talent, sometimes the control and skills are fab.
Still looks to me that his head isn't in quite the right place. Hopefully he can get that sorted out.

He'll very soon have been with us for two seasons and played half of his contract. He has offered little to nothing in that time. Yet its Anthony that gets slated by the fans and media

Sancho has had an injury which kept him out for a few months and a massive personal life event (purportedly the death of a very close relative) in that time, so I think we need to take that into consideration. He might be "fit", but he's obviously still not quite right. And of course, he might just not work out. It wouldn't entirely be a surprise with a player from the Woodward years. I'd rather hope he can come good, though.

If you want to left Howe have a shot at rejuvenating Sancho I wouldn’t be upset by the move.
I don’t know what witchcraft Dortmund were weaving but he was a completely different player for them than with England or United. Admittedly linking up with Haaland probably helped with that a little.

He joined a shit show of a club with a PE teacher passion merchant as a manager. Plus whatever going on his personal life and being young, I think he's young enough to stick with.

Antony gets the piss taken BECAUSE he’s playing. It’s the step-overs to money ratio thing. He’s prime lols.
Sancho there does seem to be a bit of perhaps intentional media distance, maybe because of the family death. But he’s a young talented black man with bags of cash. I’m sure the media can’t wait to take him down. And wait until he starts scoring lots for England because that’s when the fun really starts.

West Ham in a European final. Don’t like the club, but would be happy for Moyes to get himself a trophy.
