River is boring because out of whole night city he really is the only one providing some normality and peace, relatively speaking. Out of 4 romance options he is the type you could have a normal, happy life*

*he goes punisher/batman at the end but by night city standards it ain't that weird.

You can only get the lizard in Act 1 Pick up the egg in the Konpeki Plaza penthouse - think it's just to the left of where you enter. Then place it by the TV area in your starting apartment Cat is available during Act 2 |

Picked it up on PS5, played a couple of hours but haven't yet experienced anything I would describe as fun.
Tempted to just forget about it unless it's likely to get better?

I loved it on release on the one x. Jank and all!
I think the extra horsepower helped it over the base xbox/ps4 experience.

jonsend If you're playing for the story first and foremost, I think Act 1 is easily the weakest in that regard. Try to stick with it until a certain individual shows up at the start of Act 2.
If the gameplay isn't working for you, try messing around with different approaches to see if that changes anything - I bounced off melee combat pretty quickly, for instance, as I just couldn't cope with that playstyle from a first-person perspective. A combination of ranged combat and stealth proved preferable; however, I couldn't find an assault rifle (my usual go-to weapon in shooters) that felt good to use, so I switched to a pistol build instead.

I think Act 1 is pretty strong. It was when Trauma Team show up during that first mission that I knew it was going to be special. It's similar to Vampire Bloodlines where there's all this established lore that you're tangentially learning about as you play through the game. The world is just interesting to learn about and everything feels fleshed out. The story and characters are all great but the Cyberpunk universe is the best bit; I'm happy just being in it and driving around listening to the radio completing gigs
It's up there with the first Deus Ex and Bloodlines for me. Incredible game

I wouldn't describe Act 1's narrative as bad, per se, but I wasn't a fan either - I never bought the V/Jackie bromance for a second, and that's a *huge* part of it.
Totally agree about the world-building aspects, though. CDPR and Mike Pondsmith really nailed Night City.
I can't overstate how important V's voice acting has been for my enjoyment of Cyberpunk, so huge props (did I use that correctly?) to everyone here who advocated for female V over male V. Cherami Leigh is brilliant in this game.

Isn't female V in all the artwork? I'm sure she is on the store for the game and Phantom Liberty and on the Xbox menu
I love all the little touches like seeing people's eyes flashing when they're transferring money to you or like when Claire gives you a shard to display the directions during the races. I doubt anyone would have given it a second thought as that's just normal for driving games but they made an in game explanation for it anyway. I may be very easily pleased, but I was seriously impressed when someone slammed their hand on a table and a cup fell over
