That umbrella… could possibly be as good as Starfield’s doors!

Nice to know they still haven’t fixed the glitch where the relic malfunction effect won’t go away. I know what this means now. Thinking it was part of the game I played well past the save point I could reload to fix it and apparently I now have permanent visual flickering, although it is fixable with a patch. Supposedly it was fixed previously, but 2.0 has brought it back. Not seen many other glitches, just the general stuff you get in open-world games, faulty drawing etc. The most entertaining was when Keanu vanished but left his fag floating in mid-air.

You can fix it with a mod called begone or something along those lines.

It took me a while to realise that a relic glitch is also an indication that there’s a relic point to be found nearby.
It’s a pity that almost all of the new abilities are of zero use to me, not having the related cyberware.

What does the relic glitch look like, I cant tell if what I have is part of the story or this glitch. Seem to happen when I initiate combat and lasts for a couple of seconds, see all the white glitches in this screenshot. It goes away pretty quick. I have a point of no return quest after the Japantown parade if that helps.

It's when the relic malfunctions and you get that echo sound and the feedback interference on the screen.

Well, reinstalled it and gave it a quick try, but the audio crackling is still there and performance - even on mostly Low and Medium - isn't good enough to bother.
I guess I'll have to wait until I have to replace my hardware again in a few years.

Come across some hilarious bugs in this playthrough, like this "defund the police" one.

There's so many weapons to use, but the katana has to be the best. I'll never get tired of slicing arms, heads off etc.

There is no other weapon to use except Johnny's hand cannon.
Really enjoying the expansion story, characters and missions but I don't really care for dog town.

Finally going to jump on board now the new patch is out. Choice is between PS5 and Series X, will be playing in Performance mode. Checked the DF review and it looks like there really isn't much difference in what you see on screen, but is there anything to consider?
I have the Elite 2 for the Xbox, and generally prefer the feel of that pad, but does the PS5 do anything nice with the triggers, touchpad or speakers?
And I am right in thinking I just pick up the original version (Xbox One, PS4) and it does the upgrade for X/5?

Yeah you'll get a free upgrade for both consoles. The PS5 controller has certain sounds that emit from the mic such as calls, notifications and whatnot, the triggers ar affected by acceleration in cars so you can feel the gear shift, it's nothing huge tbh.

Just booted this up for the first time last night (after finally finishing BG3). Only played for about 40 minutes. Picked Corpo and played up until the 6 month time jump (which I assume is the end of the origin) and played through the tutorials. Was surprised at how short the opening section was, expecting it to be an hour or so, whereas it only lasted about 20 minutes.
Can't really judge much of it so far, but feels and looks pretty good (PC, with all bells and whistles on). I like the general tone though, which feels quite Deus Ex like (perhaps the Corpo origin lends itself to that, what with you starting out on the side of the "MAN!")

For Dogtown, after taking down the first boss the big mech fight, the Chimera , make sure to grab the core it drops, then you can craft some superb reusable legendary weapon mods from it. It’s easily missed.

It does seem to me that the Corpo intro is a little shorter, and the Nomad one seems like the longer of the three.

I enabled Ray Reconstruction using the method detailed here:
It does look amazing when enabled. Can't believe how much more realistic fog and smoke looks. I never thought I'd type this particular phrase, but I stood enraptured in amazement at a guy pissing down an alley, fascinated by how a red light source light was filtered through the piss and made the stream sparkle like tiny horrible liquid fireworks.
I am going to turn it off though, for the simple reason that when it's turned off I get an average FPS of 66, with a max of 79 and a minimum of 54. With Ray Reconstruction enabled, the frame rate is fine in indoor environments but when moving to outdoors, it drops like a lemming from the roof of the Dignitas building. Average 24, max of 42, minimum of 9.

The ray reconstruction can be phenomenal. I do seem to be getting a lot of ghosting though. Noticed it particularly when drawing the katana and moving the camera around whilst it was out (other weapons too, but was particularly noticeable with the katana). I didn't really test it out, but I suspect it is actually the frame gen rather the ray reconstruction.

Rather than it get swallowed up in this thread, I've created a modding guide one in the PC section.

So you just automatically get a crafting use for them, and it doesn’t tell you?

After stumbling across the Ken Block inspired armed car, I decided to have a Grand Theft Auto style murder rampage. Last time I tried this was way back before 2.0, and it didn't really work, with the teleporting police and just general lack of chaos.
But oh shit, it actually worked. Police chasing me in increasingly armorer cars, pedestrians scattering, other cars panicking and running over other pedestrians, lamposts being knocked over...
It didn't quite reach GTA levels but it was very exhilirating and it actually *worked*.

Yeah but at least in this you can get out of the car rather and have a decent gun fight rather than the auto aiming poop that a GTA gun fight is. It's something I really hope they fix in the next one.

Yeah it's a shame, it made GTA online pointless as the gun fights are just crap. Third person shooters have been a thing for years, people could manage with proper controls.
