Turning the inner deadzone down to zero seems to help with the input lag a bit. Try changing the response curve to 'dynamic' and the turning delay to 0. Sorted it right out for me. The console version seems to be missing some accessibility options compared to the PC version, which is a bit weird. Specifically consoles don't have the option to just tap L1/LB to bring up their cybervision - you have to hold it down, booooooo urns

I'm really keen to get back on this, daft question but is the patch the actual PS5 upgrade or is that a separate thing?
I've forgotten where I got to, but did put a good chunk of time in and was enjoying it, so be good to head back to Night City at some point (once finished Deathloop, and when I need a break from being battered in Elden Ring).

Separate thing due to how utterly wank Sony's system is. The patch will just update the PS4 version to the latest PS4 version. You'll need to look through the menus and install the PS5 one specifically.

FWIW, when I installed the new version on my PS5, my PS4 save was automatically ready to play exactly where I left off.
For some reason my skill points were reset though, which I GUESS is nice, if I had wanted to respec?

They changed them up, so have allowed everyone to respec.
I need time to decide where to spend them all tho!

For some reason my skill points were reset though, which I GUESS is nice, if I had wanted to respec? I think that's because the skill trees have been tweaked fairly considerably. Frankly I can't even recall the skill tree being all that interesting and I'm unsure if any of my choices really impacted how I played. I hope the choices feel a bit more meaningful now (but suspect they won't)

For some reason my skill points were reset though, which I GUESS is nice, if I had wanted to respec? Tell me about it! I had a high level, end game hacker character and it was so wonderful to see all the skill points and gear mods had been reset on the PS5 version 😬... The funny side was that the gear he was wearing needed certain skills to be able to wear them, so there he was wearing his fancy looking jacket but without any trousers on and his dick out. Happy days! I've actually downloaded the PS4 version side by side to the PS5 version, on the same console, so I'll fire it up later and snap some pics on my phone of the skills I had originally set, as there were around 70 points allocated!

As long as my arrest warrant contains the phrase "wearing a fancy-looking jacket, but without any trousers on, and his dick out", I'm happy.

I agree its probably beyond them, but the AI seems vastly improved - crowds actually react and do stuff, and don't disappear if you look away! cars react too. Enemies have surprised me with their flanking and behaviour. All fairly basic fundamental stuff but it does seem better. I still think the AI has been programmed in BBC basic or something, most enemies run at you in straight lines, a percentage will try and flank you THEN run at you in straight lines, and all bets are off if you run away. Then they just chase you until they hit the edge of their pathing, and kind of mill about waiting to be shot, feels very xbox 360 era to play.

You can set a keybind to activate your scanner without needing to hold anything down, but only on the keyboard. I don't actually think you can change controller mapping at all, unless you edit a file.

Ray tracing is fucked, makes the controls floated and blurry so that’s off straight away. Not really any improvement on anything that i see so far and the adaptive triggers make shooting stiff and not good. Think the ps4 version is better actually so what a waste of time imo.

Then they just chase you until they hit the edge of their pathing, and kind of mill about waiting to be shot, feels very xbox 360 era to play. That's a good description of the pre-patch AI but it's not a good description of the current AI. I played 2077 a bit a few weeks ago, and the enemies are really noticeably less dumb, and less keen to just get killed without even managing to get a shot off (something they were excellent at before). Some of them even lurk in cover and everything, rather than just trundling towards me. I haven't seen any of the "end of their pathing then mill about" behaviour you describe, but I'm playing on PC so maybe that makes a difference? As for "feels very Xbox 360 era", I'm not quite sure what that means, because I'm not aware of any shooters or RPG shooters which have significantly better AI now than then. I mean, Halo was 2001 and Xbox 1 era, and FEAR (with admittedly "fake" AI but it worked) was 2005, so also Xbox 1 era. Are there modern shooters with drastically better AI than that? Because the Far Cry series and Halo Infinite sure do not have significantly better AI than then. I was actually shocked at the improvement on PC because I wasn't expecting much of a change, but I seem to have got a distinct visual upgrade, and not just the ray-tracing on car windows and stuff - the whole thing looks better and definitely runs better.

Wish there was a few more performance options. Would definitely take a 1080p 60fps mode with ray traced shadows. They make much more of a difference to the look than the reflections do. Still really struggling with the 30fps. Got about 90 minutes left on the trial and still don't know if I can stomach it. It looks pretty awful in performance mode though so that's out.

Sounding like it's time to blow 3 grand on a pc Decks, then all those problems will go away.

It hasn’t fixed any of my fundamental issues with the game (hugely cut content and watered down from the promised vision, plus it generally treats the source material like shit, so not sure why they even bothered with the IP). These aren’t inherently fixable though, so it is what it is.

I had a lot of fun with it when I played recently but I have no attachment to the source material and no idea what they promised. Some of the side content is absolutely brilliant, right up there with the bloody baron questline for me.

Well, as an example, the cutscene that plays when you finish your initial path intro where it skips forward in time? That was supposed to be fully playable. Also that lifepaths we’re supposed to have a more significant role to play in the game and have more significant divergence - we’ve effectively ended up with what the Corpo path was, with the other two paths reduced down to dialog choices. Which I get, it’s a lot of content regardless, but that a core pillar of the game is basically reduced down to “you get to make a sassy comment occasionally” seems a waste.
Also after the stunning “get the spiderbot” mission that really showcased free form mission planning, nothing else really lived up to it and they mostly boil down to “go to mission marker and kill people”

Was just starting to enjoy it there and it crashed my PS5. It really is a nice looking game in RT mode.

It’s based on the TTRPG Cyberpunk.
