Tempted to ask for a refund on Horizon and play this instead.
I think CDPR have released it today to piss off Sony and damage Horizon sales. After Sony removed CP from their store.

Anyway, just noticed the adaptive triggers do gear shifts when you're driving, feels kinda weird but cool.

Hit a bug in the training section which won't let me use a consumable. I need to use it to progress to the next bit. So I'm stuck here forever. 10/10.

It doesn't look a great deal different on the surface to be fair, but performance mode is much more stable now. Frame rate is rock solid and there's a decent jump in image quality thanks to what I assume is a higher resolution for the most part. Not bad at all really.

Performance mode seems a lot better.
It’s a good looking game and I think I’ll like it a lot.
Although The gunplay is atrocious if you are used to playing destiny or halo

Gunplay gets a bit better as you level up/get better guns. They actually RPGed the shit out of basic shooting somehow.

On PS5 it says the 5 version is about 90GB, while the PS4 version is about 70GB. I’m downloading it now but the download appears to be only 56GB, so I guess it decompresses or whatever people who know things call it.

Did the first hour or so up to Vs apartment. I think I might save it now to after Dying Light and Elden Ring. Maybe. I can see myself dipping in though. It's quite something. Visually I mean.

Judging by the Streetkid intro I just played through, I'm going to assume this refers to the fact that I noticed a bunch of loot that was previously clipping through the floor such that you couldn't actually pick it up has been removed.

I already had the ps4 version installed so auto updates is now downloading the 1.5 patch. But the ps5 free upgrade is showing on my ps5 Home Screen to upgrade to the ps5 version and when i click on that it then gives a prompt to download?. Surely the the 1.5 patch that is downloading at the moment includes the ps5 version. What a load of confusing wank.

Nope, on PlayStation, PS4 and PS5 versions are separate installations. It's not like Smart Delivery on Xbox. So what you're downloading is just the patches, bug fixes, extra quests etc. for PS4.

Tempted to give the trial a bash but I only have a series s, and the 1440p/30 is a bit shit given they probably could've done a dynamic 1080/60 and my bedroom TV is only 1080p anyway.
Alternatively I can just continue to wait until I've moved and play it on my PC where the fps is actually decent (there was crazy input lag though?) and has ray tracing.

I'm in the no man's land of finding it unplayable on RT mode but not wanting to play it in performance mode because it looks so much worse.

'Ray Tracing' makes me feel a bit motion sick at 30 fps, performance mode is a solid 60 though. Enemy AI is still dumb as bricks, run in straight line towards you, always staying inside their pre-programed box. Not sure about cop AI, forgot to anger them to find oud. The motorbike still handles like something out of s Saints Row game, it doesn't crash the game it you go too fast at least. Crowds seem somewhat more realistic, though they seem to have reduced the density a fair bit to achieve this. Not sure it feels hugely different to play really.

It's the input lag that ruins RT mode for me. Feels like your wading through soup. Going to play through the trial and see if I can used to it, if not I'll probably just leave it. Plenty of other stuff out to play.
