Reading the text messages she was sending to colleagues while all this was going on, plus the details of the inept investigation (being generous)/the blatant cover-up (being blunt), left me feeling pretty nauseous.

I'd been meaning to post about the LTT/LMG shitshow that's going on. The second video tech Jesus did was so unlike him. Don't think I've ever seen him that aggravated! Rightly so. Linus is handling this like shit, he's coming across like an utter cockwomble. To go back to something non-horrendous for a sec, I actually stopped watching the main channel a while ago because I just cant stand Linus now and the videos are, largely, shit. The 'Im not going to apologise for not spending 200 bucks to fix a mistake' thing was absolutely on brand for him. In pretty much every video he is either hawking something, complaining about how much something costs or both. I do still watch mac address and occasionally some short circuit stuff which isnt a great return for a company that puts out at least a video every day. |

The cover up is just unfathomable for me as well as everyone. "Too many babies are dying when this nurse is on shift". "Don't shout it too loud, we wouldn't want a lawsuit". It's absolutely staggering that people in positions of power think like that when babies are literally dying in the ward. Should be many a sacking due to it. The parents in all this are absolute champions having to deal with it over the last 8 years or so.

It's "interesting" as the media falls over itself with musings at how Letby could have done this. More in the sense that as the The Guardian puts it "she was a university educated, young woman". I think people are always expecting evil to be borne out of stereotypical situations,when it's always found in the most mundane of places. The same thing also occurred with Dr. Harold Shipman.

I've just watched their "apology" video, which is probably the first LTT video I've watched this year.

One aspect of what Linus and others do on YouTube is that they've got to go all out to do original material on PC stuff because it's pretty fucking boring now. Make another tedious benchmarking video about the latest pointless and overpriced Nvidia card or be complete dicks for clicks?

Just been reading some of the Letby case stuff, astonishing, I confess I had my doubts but it's all seems so damning, that chart which shows out of 38 shift nurses she was the only one present in every case, incredible, I'm not sure as such that some NHS should be sacked more like prosecuted as accomplices.

Linus Sebastian is founder of linus media group, a technology centric entertainment company with channels on YouTube (main viewership) tiktok and few others. They do reviews of computer hardware, and videos related to them. Also some other stuff. They were valued at 100m usd. Gamer nexus (GN) is smaller computer hardware review channel. Generally seen as much more serious and professional but dryer. LMG video was released about their expansion of work they do and in the video they said GN does subpar job Gn them released a video listing all the crappy quality videos LMG do, their shady workings, and how they auctioned stuff which was not theirs but belong to small startup company Then LMG releases their response which is then proved as a marketing bullshit When the beef between them was ongoing A former employee posted a lot info about how crappy work is there. She self harmed to escape work But afterward her info went public the LMG released their response to initial argument on quality of their videos. It was not received well. And given the timing it didn't tackle the news about work abuse. Lots of internet drama, beef and really messed up work environment where people are abused and overworked and the main guy is apparently narcissistic baby who allowed situation to develop like that as he can't take any criticism |

Steve from GN is known as tech Jesus. They do great content if you want all of the details, but yeah he's extremely dry. I often stick on his videos with the intention of watching them, but my attention just drifts off after a couple of minutes.
He seems like a genuinely decent guy fwiw and has exposed shitty practices of other companies previously, but I think this is the first time he's gone after other YouTubers.

Thing about GN is you should only watch the weekly HW recap, shorter segments with some entertainment value. Hardware reviews of stuff you don’t care about are dry, I mostly only watch the intro and conclusion, the rest is 20 minutes of charts.

For the products I care i really appreciate the detail and consistency in presentation they put in every video. Maybe for some is dry but I'm too old to tolerate overexcited reviewer trying to make it super fun. Hence why I prefer gn to paul, jay, or linus. |

Letby has refused to attend court for her sentencing, as predicted. I wish there was some way she could be forced to hear the victim impact statements, that must be truly heart rending after the atrocious crimes she’s been convicted of
She’ll have a massive target on her in prison and I wonder how long she will last. Hope her every day is living hell to be honest.

Twitch is generally more hyperactive than Youtube but there are still a lot of the old style hyperactive streamers on both platforms but much, much fewer than before. Though to be honest i rarely watch Twitch anymore, most of the livestreams i watch are on YT. As for GN, i like Steve and he has greatly improved over the last year but he was the person that made me appreciate the speedup options on YT. I had to watch his vods at 1.25 or 1.5 speed or i couldn't bear them. |
