I do laugh that she really does write as if she's the first person ever to have a child. Fair play to her achieving the impossible and writing about something different.

Probably was her to be able to hit that sort of speed, my car would explode if I tried.

Managed 158mph on one of my driving courses a few years ago. It's quick.

One tiny mistake or bump in the road at that speed and it's going be fireball time.
I wonder how many were bikes, thinking they're Alastair Seeley.

Think the fastest I have hit was about 130 and the car didn't feel good at all at that speed, certainly no desire to do it again unless it was in a proper environment and with a much better car.
Obviously that's not the actual speed I was doing either due to the nature of speedos.

I've done 195, but not on the road - on the main straight at a track, on a race bike. Still scary. I think the fastest I've ever been in a car was over Snaefell on the Isle of Man, in a 911 Turbo S. But I wasn't driving, I was in the passenger seat with my life flashing before me.

The last time I was in The Kardomah, I came perilously close to finding a sliver of bacon running through the middle of my fat sandwich.

Is the word 'caff' in common parlance or is this an attempt to start something?

Don't think I've ever seen it written.

Sorry, to be clear, I've heard people say the sound 'Caff'. I've seen more episodes of Eastenders than I care to admit (that would be one episode). I've just not seen someone try the change the written word, and absolutely am so out of touch that this could be a general thing I just know nothing about!

Are you talking about Caff? Or the Caff? Or Caffs Caff?

I directed your question to my wife, who said: It's just called 'Kathy's'. So er... yeah...

I think a lot of people would write cafe but would say "caff" informally.

I pronounce it caff if it's a greasy spoon that doesn't deserve a fancy word with an accent. Anything else gets the proper pronunciation.
I'd still spell it café, mind you.

It is interesting how the rise of the garbage app that is Tik Tok has led to an increase in many "I'm The Main Character" people.

I occasionally work in club for extra cash and the amount of people who get their phones out to TikTok to a song rather than listen to it is crazy.

I've been getting far too much enjoyment from this story than I should; I like it when both sides are ridiculous. The Bodyguard is a stupid cash-in premise and the idiots singing drunkenly along are awful. The Rocky Horror shows have it spot on; dress up, sing along have a laugh. But that feels like a strong community / fan base that knows what it is. I bet no one sings along at the Jazz Cafe or Ronnie Scott's =)

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-coventry-warwickshire-65233721Two climate change activists have been arrested after attempting to stage a protest at a dinosaur exhibit. To be honest I broadly support their cause and don't really care if they block roads or whatever, but what sounds like anl foiled attempt to fuck with Dippy has made me less sympathetic.

I know, but it's something I have good memories of. Better than the fucking real whale skeleton that replaced Dippy.
