So by my reckoning Scotland need BP wins against Tonga and Romania, which ought to happen but you never know. Then beat Ireland by denying them a bonus point so by 8 and not letting them score 4 tries...
Which would leave the table at: SA 15 Scotland 14 Ireland 14
Scotland go through under the head to head rule. Ireland get any kind of losing bonus point and it all comes down to points different and we're probably fucked.
So my bet is Scotland finally beat Ireland by 1pt and still go out after our greatest ever performance.

No semi-final for you, ever, Ireland.

A good start for Scotland.
If they can keep that up - and if Dickson can keep the brain farts to a bare minimum - it should be their day.

As much as I want to see Scotland win this, some of the Tonga players really are " ridiculous athletes." A joy to watch.
Try no. 2 for Scotland as I type - that should steady the ship somewhat!

Frustrating watching a few of these 'Tier 2' nations play as they clearly have the quality to compete and dominate in certain areas but they keep doing sloppy mistakes and gift 2+ tries a game to the 'Tier 1' nations.

I think Tonga's penalty count is going to go up. They're tackling hard and borderline. There's been almost highs and several no arms, when they get tired and frustrated it's going to go bad.
Plus their scrum keeps going backwards which Dickson has ignored so far.

zephroI wouldn't be in the least bit surprised - I was a huge fan of Fekitoa when he played for Wasps, but his tendency to go looking for big hits all the time made him something of a liability. Some of his fellow Tongans seem to have a similar approach.

Yeah, he's driving upwards as he makes contact.
It's such a good thing for Scotland that Russell and Townsend managed to bury the hatchet and find a way to work together. I can't imagine Scotland having the same X-factor with anyone else playing 10.

Prophet Zephro That was a fun game for about 20 mins They've been riding their luck and just clinging on. Scotland are barely hitting second gear, the score line would be much worse if not for some desperate tackling. Desperate tackling just usually leads to reckless tackling. Finn is one of my all time favourite players, up their with Toonie himself and Gavin Hastings.
