The inverted exclamation just looks like an i, this is discrimination against Spanish.

See, I kind of half fancy Back 4 Blood, but honestly just seeing the words 'deck building' makes me groan these days.

Yeah. I'm watching my girlfriend play B4B at the moment and it looks like pure fluff. Unnecessary fluff to distract from a seemingly less intricate or polished game. It's still early days, though.

It's Aldi L4D, if you can accept that you'll enjoy it.

echo generation arrived on gamepass today and its already being deleted until they patch the game and balance the turn based combat. they had e3 demo and the timing of the attacks and defends seems worse (not that it was good to begin with) gamers give their feedback and the devs didn't listen. You have to grind heavily for the 1st boss which is at the start of the game (less than 25 minutes in. No doubt there is not much game and the devs just threw in lots of cheap enemy attacks

Silent Hill 3. Either it's utter crap compared to the first two, or they've dated really badly and I wouldn't like them anymore either. Got to the first boss and the entire thing up until there had just been tedious and very, very, grey. There has been no plot whatsoever up to there, which I know sounds and odd complaint for a SH game, but there needs to be something no matter how trivial to push me forward. There are way to many enemies, which makes exploring a chore, the entire underpass segment was one of the most unfun things I've ever experienced in a game. Oh well.

Super Monkey Ball or whatever the remaster is called... Might dip back in at some point, but it's just not really working as a solo game for me.
£4 with some dodgy VPN shenanigans though, so can't complain...

Yeah, nostalgia got the better of me with the new Super Monkey Ball.
Thought I liked it. I didn't.

I have recently abandoned Diablo 2, I thought I would love it seeing. As it’s well spoken about, but I found that it was tough to play a 20 year old game with a fresh paint job. I wanted more from the skills and the RPG elements. I guess I may go back but I have bounced hard for now. Still Diablo loss has been rdr2’s gain.

Dug my Vita out to see if remote play was any cop, it’s not really so thought I’d have a run through of FF8 while waiting for a new TV and Switch to arrive. It’s held up pretty well considering it’s age, got about 30 hours in before new screens arrived. I intended to finish it but on the third unavoidable death at roughly the same spot just after Esthar I didn’t fancy trudging through the same sequence yet again. The music is a high point in the series, the story and gameplay still generally good, the draw system isn’t great though, just another thing to have to grind alongside exp. Maybe I’ll have a m other go in 20 years time if the Vita still holds a charge

Is it no good then, I was on the fence about giving it a whirl It’s definitely not terrible but it just hasn’t clicked for me. The art style is really nice and the narrative might appeal to some but as a game it’s really lacking IMO. I got about six hours in and have no drive to return to it.

Biomutant
Is free to play this weekend on xbox and meh, and the day 1 reviews are still spot on. A small team made a massive empty world, you have to ride across a massive map to do objective then do another one far away. You can't turn the fucking narrator off (they were going for tesco value david attenborough voice) and the fucker will not shut the fuck up (even turning down the times he has say something moronic) Also the tone, things have childish names.
The first boss is still fucking shit, the narrator tells you to use the floating bombs on your jet bike but its badly designed. its easier to use a gun with strong accuracy for the first stage of the first. 2nd stage isn't much better. I beat it and thought fuck this game as its filled with ubishit base/fort attacks
The devs think they made a game that is "breath of the wild with batman arkham combat", maybe lay off the lead paint. Its more like bad ubisoft game. its a shame as wanted to see more about the world and wanted happen to the humans. I never understand why devs can choose all the shitty game design elements

I struggled to get into Disco Elysium too. Keep meaning to get back to it but I never feel like I can be arsed with it.

Doom Eternal (PS5)
Was really excited to start this one as I loved 2016. Sadly it seems full of all of the things I don’t need in a Doom game such as platforming, story telling, overtly complicated mechanics. Add to this irritations like mandatory Bethesda.net sign ins and regular interruptions to the otherwise fun combat to tell me things I don’t want to know.
It’s a shame really because underneath all the BS is a fun shooter. It just makes me want to go back to Doom 2016 for another run.

Dooom 2016 felt quite slow and unengaging after Eternal. Loved it
edit: Eternal I mean. The cutscenes were fun

I enjoyed both but 2016 was slightly better if only for its simplicity. I had one or two moments in Eternal where I could have put my foot through the TV it was that frustrating.

I bounced off Eternal despite finishing it first time around, I just didn't really think too fondly of it. I replayed it this year and loved the utter shit out of it, including all the DLC.
That said. Replaying Quake recently just made me realise the formula I kind of want id to go back to. Basically Quake / Quake II and it's tight level design, fast paced frantic shooting and lack of complications. It works so well and Quake still plays like a beast to this day (holding out for a Q2 console release in the near future).
