Tbf, the introduction of the Hong Kong visa scheme was a rare pleasant surprise by this government, even if it only applies to those born before 1997.

Ukraine is itself pretty big tho, and has since it was taken by surprise last time (also because it had a treaty with Russia and NATO that it would give up its nuclear weapons in return for non aggression), it has ramped up its army (with western support), there is a seemingly well supported volunteer / part time force, many of the soldiers now have lots of combat experience from the long running eastern skirmishes, and there are also pro Ukraine militias.
Putin would have to commit a big force to occupy.

Yeah there are both better and surprisingly worse GIFs of it. Thing is huge.
Hopefully most could get to safety as tsunami footage is rolling in now.

You’d think the UK would be viewed as highly important to Russia. If they invade and can’t get access to any of their money in bank accounts the currency held in the UK would be extra valuable.
So maybe the mistreatment shows they don’t intend to invade.
Or that they do and plan on bringing the UK down by immediately removing billions from UK banks

If they also withdraw their investments in property, causing a collapse that reduces my rent significantly from its current £1,200 a month for a shithole, then WELCOME COMRADES

What's worse is that Danno lives in a shed. I do have a garden Ha, I pay the exact same (excludes council and utilities of course) for a small 1 bed. No garden, on-street parking.

What's the appeal?
I briefly looked at London when I was out of uni. Did a few days work freelance and never again. Now I pay £360 a month mortgage for a 2 1/2 bed end terrace with garden and even then I'm looking to overpay and get it done as fast as poss.

Some jobs are less concentrated in London than others, but generally speaking employment opportunities are better. But I mean other than that? Well, there's living in a dynamic multicultural metropolis with loads going on, the best cultural amenities in the world, amazing breweries and beer scenes, loads and loads of music venues within 10 square miles no matter where you live, excellent connections to the rest of the country, subsidised public transport that runs frequently, much easier to keep in touch with people - everyone comes to London at some point, great restaurants, etc. Yeh, I miss living in London...
