I have an older LG B9 but I have everything set that I should have all modes enabled. I set the Xbox console and the game itself to 60Hz and it still only triggers HDR and not DV.

Looks like they're rolling out the 4K dash to groups other than Alpha (which is invite only) in the insider program.
Noticed this evening that the dashboard was suddenly rather sharp looking out of the blue.
Annoyingly some assets have been left as they are, so whilst text and certain other elements are pin sharp, there's other stuff still stuck in 1080p land like the settings app icon etc.

Question. Has anyone used, or considered, the Microsoft Complete extended warranty for the Series X or earlier consoles?
Generally any suggestion of an extended warranty on anything gets a "screw that, they are all a rip-off and I'll cover the cost myself if the worst does happens" from me. But this one has given me pause to consider it : - extra 2 years for £39 on top of the standard 1 year - hardware failure gets you a new console replacement from MS not a repair - includes 2 controller replacements in the 3 years - accidental damage cover for drops and liquid spills. Which I am less bothered about but nice to have I guess. But that said I did trash my expensive Ducky keyboard not long ago when I knocked over a full beer into it. And the Series X lives at desk level at the back of my gaming desk. Yeah don't do that again.
I mean, 20 quid a year for 2 years. One worn-out or failed controller in that time would justify it?
New tech, still in first year, it'll get a lot of use and new tech stuff goes wrong....
I guess i am looking for either a gentle slapping for even considering it or reassuring that it's actually not a bad call. Or both.
Got my Series X 2 weeks ago direct from Microsoft and could buy it over the phone within 45 days by calling MS.

You know what, that’s not bad. My launch day X had to go back for a repair and that initial year is about to run out and there is no reason to think something could not happen again. Controller replacement sounds good. I definitely knacker a controller through overuse and the odd drop it on a button on the floor within two years. £39 is not a huge amount of money if piece of mind matters to you.

Yeah despite my usual adversion to paying for extra warranties I'm leaning more towards it the more I think about it. It's not so much peace of mind as actually this looks like it could be value for money. What went wrong with your Series X oldskooldeano?

Just ordered a series s from AO. £249 Inc a copy of fifa 22 which I haven't decided if I'll register or sell yet. Given I don't care about 4k hopefully I haven't bought the wrong machine.
Thanks to the gold upgrade thing I've got 3 years of game pass ultimate and my PC will play anything it can't to an acceptable level.

Yeah, it's not looking good for football is it. That said, I've got no complaints with my S to be honest. I had an Xbox one X and to be honest at TV range, It's hard to tell the difference between 1080p and 4k.

SpiralScratch My series X began to just turn off randomly. Usually in intensive 4K games, Gears, Outriders etc. They never told me what exactly was wrong with it, my guess is a PSU issue or chip cooling. They definitely did repair something though and it’s been fine ever since.

My Series X controller has stick drift. Just like my green Switch Joy Con. I noticed it initially the other day when playing Red Dead as my character just starts creeping forward on their own. Now if I'm walking my character will just stutter and stop momentarily.
Gonna pick up some compressed air and see if that fixes it. If not, I'm hoping Amazon will send me a new pad, rather than swapping out my entire console.

Someone kindly posted a link a few days back with how to get a replacement from MS under warranty.

I'm glad there's a demo for Fenyx Rising - Zeus and Prometheus did my head in. Definitely not a game for me.
Looks like it's back to seeing how awfully 360 games have aged for the foreseeable.

I liked the Fenyx game, but the voices took some getting used to alright

GeForce now doesn't support the new Edge browser. Annoying. I kept my founder's membership going for a fiver month, hoping I'd be able to play my Steam library.

Can't you just use a browser it does support?

Probably worth waiting anyway as apparently 2TB cards are on the way.

I’m struggling to justify. The Mrs has a series S though and storage is annoying with less than 400 usable. Think I’m just gonna use a 1tb SSD on usb and she needs to keep her top 3 on the internal

mikew1985 I see £185 or so in basket then on the checkout screen where you pick delivery it changed to £149.

I checked my broadband usage on my Xbox and almost fell off my chair when I saw that the month of May saw almost an entire petabyte of data flowing through it. I hope that is a mistake, because that figure is insane. I just can't get my head around it.

It’ll be a mistake. Even with a gigabit line maxed out that amount of data would take three months solid.

OK I've had my Series X about a month now and I have been getting into the Microsoft Rewards as I realised the program was quite generous.
I should have over 6000 points by tomorrow and was looking at what to spend them on.
What is the general consensus on what is the best value to redeem them on.? I wanted to auto redeem the five pound voucher and let my account build up, but it says you have to spend the vouchers within 90 days?
Can I let the points build up instead or do these expire too?
What does everyone else do? I didn't even know about the rewards program until I got my xbox, seems a nice little incentive to stick with MS.

As I understand it, the points don't expire. Or if they do expire, they last longer than 90 days. I have also just decided to actually concentrate more on getting the MS points. People use them to subsidise games, others use it to pay for the GPU. I think those two options are the smartest ways to use the MS points.

They don't expire. I just keep plugging away and currently have 45k which is about £40 of MS credit worth.
Plan is to get to £50 and use it either towards those wireless headphones on the store or to buy a load of games when they're on sale.
Reckon I grind out an average about 1.5k points a week
