(Before anyone asks, I haven't played Lost Odyssey so I take no sides in that debate ) It's already been clearly decided by the forum that LO is the better. Mr_Destroyer's views be damned.

What forum? All I see is a beautiful sunset (could be you've *ahem* discussed it here and I haven't noticed, of course )

Both are good. LO is better overall for me but I liked being able to see enemies on the map in BD.

It's £639 but argos has the X plus an elite controller and GP bundle in stock.

Yeah never played those so wasn't sure if they followed the first or just spin offs. To be fair a BD remake would probably shift a few in Japan. The S seems to be the perfect chance for MS to try in Japan they just need to get those Japanese games. They were direct sequels. Rather enjoyable games, too, if not quite as good as the original.

Or you can grab one from the Microsoft store not bundled with anything. If you wanted the elite controller they're £140 at the moment, so £590 all in.
Amazon are selling the controller for £145, so you can get both from them for £595.
As for game pass, do the live conversion.

Blue Dragon was great, man. Sakaguchi don't miss. Lost Odyssey is probably better, but people talk about Blue Dragon as if it were made by Idea Factory. Last Story on Wii was also good. I've yet to try Fantasian, but that's mostly because I keep wishing they announce a Switch port, as many Apple Arcade titles have had.

Paddles and interchangeable sticks mostly. Also, you can manually adjust the thumbstick tension on the series 2 and the controller case doubles as a charger for the controller. Haven't tried the new one yet, but the first version had a really nice weight to it and felt solid.

I picked one up a few months ago, and honestly I prefer the default controller. Best thing for me about the Elite 2 is that it comes with an internal rechargeable battery, and the charge lasts for quite a while before it needs more juice.

The case does what now?!
I got the gen 2 a while back for £84.12 from Amazon warehouse and very happy with it for that kind of price, but just don't use enough of the features to justify paying full whack for a new one. I just love them for the grip and heft more than anything else.

Bought a Series S and game pass recently, after years of being PC + Switch only, and it's so bloody good having access to hundreds of great games and a system that just works and plays games really well with no poor resolution or jittery framerates taking me out of the experience. I should have got one at launch. So tempted to do the same purely as it's the only new console available at rrp. Plus it seems that they somehow made flight sim work on it and I really want to play that properly as it runs like a dog on my PC. Mrs Fox isn't too keen on the idea though, not sure if she is trying to throw me off the scent given birthdays are just around the corner or it's just the usual MS hate.

It's weird how many of the greats were involved in making this one rather random game Sakaguchi, Uematsu, Toriyama... That's an all-star cast right there.

People wanted it to be Chrono Trigger 2, and instead it was Dragon Ball the JRPG, and that's more my thing anyway.

Don't know if it's of interest to anyone who feels that £450 is about £30 too much to pay for an Xbone, but you can get kicked by a spotty intern certified refurbished consoles direct from the Microsoft store.

Itagaki-san, for all his faults, believed in the console and took pride delivering a great game

Just downloaded Ninja Gaiden on PC and found out that you need a controller. I mean yeah, you'd probably want to play with a controller anyway, but it's weird to find a PC game that won't even work with mouse and keyboard. I think the last one I've seen was X-wing vs TIE Fighter, back in 1997.
Unfortunately it also showed me that my old 360 controller is not in great condition anymore (the stick seems to have some detection issues, so Ryu keeps stopping while running). Guess I can't play it until I either buy a new controller, or go back to my Series S.

I downloaded Blue Dragon after all this talking about it, for £3 I may as well give it a go.
What the fuck is that annoying voice that does the deaf narration there for? And I assume you can just turn it off, it is never relevant?
Having a monotone weird voice go "item" "join" "playable" every few seconds was certainly an interesting design choice

Having a monotone weird voice go "item" "join" "playable" every few seconds was certainly an interesting design choice Having the "Nothings" you find in every nook and cranny that doesn't have something for you to grab actually matter later on is an even more interesting design choice And I'm unsure if you can mute the voice but it actually makes for some pretty effective jumpscares with the "Checkpoint" in a few spots...

After the multiplatform Street Fighter 6 reveal at State of Play, I hope there's a similarly multiplatform Virtua Fighter 6 reveal at the Xbox Showcase.
