It's a terrible trailer, the music, the lead actor doesn't fit at all and then whatever the fuck Denzel is going for.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I have a soft spot for the 2019 Hellboy. It's absolutely a bad movie but it's a much better Hellboy/BPRD adaptation than the Del Toro films (which are good films but terrible adaptations) That trailer doesn't fill me much with confidence though. Looks like The Conjuring but with a guy in a bad Hellboy cosplay instead of Patrick Wilson. Agree 100%. If the costume was better, it would be an improvement but honestly I’m not sure that it’s entirely possible to make him look sensible in a live action film. |

just came to post this trailer, gladiator. what a fucking mess.
it was always going to be difficult following or even surpassing the first but that looks like its running the other way.
horrible music choice.

Maybe the 4K not terrible looking version was still processing but that's unlikely.

I think its biggest problem, apart from the music, is that it makes a mess of showing what it is or even a hint of why it exists.

Gladiator II just looks like more Gladiator to me. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but from the trailer it does look like it hews fairly close to the format of the original (man of means forced to become slave/gladiator, fights for a somewhat corrupt-looking patron, seeks revenge within the arena in front of a venal emperor).
But, I mean, it looks entertaining. He fights a rhino for goodness' sake.

I've got to the "OK I'm not watching any more pre-release vids" on this one. Would be nice to go in with some surprises. Hopefully the biggest surprise of all will be us getting a GOOD Aliens movie! |
