Chappie is poisoned so much by Die Antwoord, your mileage is based on that.
I used to be ambivalent towards them, but they've behaved like such arseholes since and a tonne of vile stuff has come out that it really taints Chappie beyond how wonky a film it is in the first place.

Yeah they seem like dodgy people from the stories that have come out about them.
I think the film itself is fine. Its basically Short Circuit with bits of Robocop or Robocop 2 scattered about it.

The massive soul transfer deviation it takes in the last few minutes is so rushed and shoehorned in, it's slapdash. There's no real need for it.

Spider-Man: No Way Home - well it will be fun to have Willem Dafoe and Alfred Molina back in their Raimi roles. Ideally I’d also throw in Paul Giamatti Rhino just for the ridiculousness of it all. Jamie Fox Electro too if you must.
But leave Spider-Man 3 out of it, please.

This looks like it could be amazing Saw this at the Edinburgh Film Festival this week. It's a total trip. It's like Jan Švankmajer, David Lynch, David Cronenberg, Jim Henson and Hieronymus Bosch having a gang bang on acid. I loved it!

New bond movie looks weird af.
Get that space shuttle out of cold storage and get ready for Emmerich to try mixing Armageddon and Independence Day? Not gonna lie, I've got a soft spot for this kind of thing, I'm weirdly excited in a "this is going to be really dumb" kind of way.

Lol this looks equal parts fucking atrocious and absolutely amazing all at the same time. Low budget enough to be a high budget fan movie, but fuck me that Mansion entranceway:

What’s with the words appearing all the way through, and the choice of music is very strange.

"It looks genuinely awful but I'm totally going to watch it." EMPIRE - 5 STARS I think Wunty has nailed the marketing tag line here

Not a trailer, but Taika Waititi is going to make a movie of The Incal and this seemed like the best place to post the announcement video.

I hope this actually happens. Taika's the right guy to tackle Moebius, but he was seemingly attached to Akira for ages and nothing's come from it.

Hmm, I would disagree. The right person to do The Incal would be Jodorowsky, and then obvious market forces withstanding, if not he, then Aronosky or similar. Waititi wouldn't be anywhere near that list.

In terms of getting an enjoyable movie out of it I think he's one of the better possible choices. There are lots of great things in L'Incal, both conceptual and visual, but that shit needs adapting by someone who knows how to tell a coherent story if they want to reach an audience of more than a handfull of 80s comic book nerds.

The Incal is many things, but coherent is not really one of them. It makes it sort of pointless to sanitise it for a mainstream audience. In fact, I can't really see how you could do it.
Just my two penneth worth.
