The article is wrong, the games have not been patched, the metadata in the Steam database has been updated.
It’s also absolutely moot as the Steam client no longer works on the OSes this would impact anyway, much like the Steam client no longer works on anything below Windows 10. Like it or not that’s the reality of the world now, and it’s been that way for at least a decade so your outrage is a little late.
