Is there a navigation line to get to the waypoints you set or do you have to find your own way. There seemed to be one at the start as it gave a blue line to something but I can't remember how to do it. It may have just been a tutorial thing.

My brother wanted a month of ubi+ on Xbox so my console got the game as well, it says cross save so hopefully I get my save on pc if I don't finish it this month.
Enjoyed what I played before the weekend.

Ubisoft have been pretty much at the forefront of having cross platform and generation saves sorted out, you should be fine.

Has become unplayable on pc, crashes every 5-10 mins straight to desktop, loads of people having the same problem.
First 8 hours I had no crashes as well.
Would definitely hold off if you are on PC for a few patches.

A pretty balanced take from SkillUp, for anyone who's interested:

Quite enjoyed my first play and then win at Kessel Sabaac, it's a shame that it's not the full game as I've been thinking about learning that (not that I'll win a fast spaceship if I ever play it in reality) but it's pretty fun.
I do wish their was a bit more HUD customisation though and I'd like it to be able to hide everything unless I give the touchpad a quick flick like HFW does, that would be perfect.

Here's my review - shonky as fuck, enemy ai that might as well not exist, broken game mechanics, landscape you can literally walk through, terrible controls and so far, decidedly average. None of which Ubi gives a shit about because its Star Wars and people will buy it, broken or not.

I’ve been playing since last week (PS5 tells me 33 hours but I’m fairly sure/hope it counts when paused). It’s janky in more ways than it should be but fundamentally I’m having a good time and wanting to get back to it.
The space combat is a bit shit but everything in-world is solid enough.
Ed: I thought Whizzo’s comparison to WatchDogs was accurate. It feels like that game more than any other Ubi open-worlder.

Auto fail stealth sections. I thought we were past that bull crap 💩
At least it's just a rental

The stealth is pretty straight forward if you use the tools on offer, use Nix a lot to distract, attack and disable alarms, use your stun shot and it pays to be a lot more aggressive at times than you'd think. The whistle could be more useful but, if I'm outside, I seem to summon my bike more often than not, even more annoying when it ploughs into you.
You do not need to be Sam Fisher in the game.

That doesn't stop it being a shit mechanic though, I opened a door the other day and got insta spotted before I could move failing the section.
It's just a mechanic that doesn't need to be in the game, or any other.

The game director agrees "the early instant-fail stealth missions are "incredibly punishing," and Ubisoft is easing the pain with a patch coming "maybe in 10 days"
No idea why they made it into the modern game

I haven't started this game yet, but the problem with stealth bits like this is I just go through the motions until I learn the patterns to get past. It doesn't really engage. As I'm not really concentrating, I then end up doing the same bit for twice as long as I should and it gets completely annoying.
The good news is I have Astro Bot now so maybe this'll be updated by the time I get to it.

Apart from Jabba's palace I haven't really come across instant fail stealth missions which have been an issue. Saying "stealth sections shouldn't be in games" is pretty much me saying "fuck boss battles in games". We both think we are right.

No one is saying "stealth sections shouldn't be in games"
The last splinter cell game (blacklist) really did it right as it rewarded you on how you played

I think stealth missions can be jarring in a lot of games, good or bad. You can spend hours playing a game with one kind of mentality and then be forced to think and play differently for the next 20 minutes. It’s just not what you booted up a game for in that moment and as a result it immediately disappoints or frustrates you.
Games like Splinter Cell and Hitman are well designed, but we boot them up for the stealth gameplay, so we’ve decided we want to sneak around.
Breath of the Wild had that one stealth section that annoyed a lot of players. Particularly as it was far more restrictive than when you could sneak through or wipe out an enemy camp in the wilderness. It just stood out too much against expectations.

There are some good ideas lurking here but they're always immediately followed by some ancient open world mistakes that even other ubi games have fixed by now.
I've given outlaws chance after chance to redeem itself and every time it let's me down.
It just feels archaic and not comfortable to play so I'm calling it a day.

Just main line it, it's not very long at all if you do.
I totally agree though, I love the way you get new skills by playing the game. The imperial bases really capture the films brilliantly. When you are involved in blaster fights they can be really good.
There is just some annoying shit that gets in the way, I'm not sure many people wanted an open world star wars game where you spend so long in an average stealth experience.
Nyx is great though, deserved better.

I have another post game thought. It's lacking any big set pieces that really stick in your memory. It goes along at a very similar pace throughout the whole game without any events that really stick with you. Uncharted always had those moments that would really stand out every couple of hours and this doesn't have any. The gunplay is better in this than in the uncharted games but it fails to create the excitement that the naughty dog games do through huge moments.
It's just fine, which in itself is fine..everything is fine and that's the problem.

So like SkillUp said in his review would you say it does some things really well but other things really terribly and does it really come alive in the last third?

I think that's fair, there is some really good stuff in there.
Apart from the last third bit, it's just more of the same and most of the last 3rd is a giant stealth section.

Good to read Massive games are going to patch the stealth very soon to make it if not easier (it will be) then make it more forgiving. I'm yet to buy due in large parts to the instafail stealth, so will keep an eye out for what they do.

The instafail stealth is being blown out of proportion. Not that it isn't a shit design choice that shouldn't be in the game, but I'd be surprised if anyone gets caught out by it more than twice. It's being reported like it's this constant oppressive thing but past the first hour or so it's barely a thing that registers.

It's being reported like it's this constant oppressive thing but past the first hour or so it's barely a thing that registers. Derbs, from developer (TA/GR article) When asked about these instant-fail stealth missions in an interview with GamesRadar, Gerighty said Ubisoft Massive has been looking through its data and has realized that these missions aren't quite working as intended and that a patch to tweak them will be coming soon. "I mean, you're probably thinking of one of the early missions in Mirogana, which is incredibly punishing," said Gerighty. "And for me, that is a mistake, and this is something that we're going to work on improving. I don't think it means removing the fail state completely, but I do think there are millions of low-hanging fruits where we can make it so much more enjoyable and understandable." Gerighty wanted to create a "sort of tension" with these stealth missions, but apparently, they've missed the mark and are unfair towards the player. "We just don't want it to feel unfair," Gerighty said. "And today, I think it feels unfair. And believe it or not, this wasn't our intention. This is more of something that crept in in the last week or so and that we're correcting already for a patch that's coming out maybe in ten days."

I didn't notice it but it may be one of the times I went online to find a guide if a mission pissed me off.
Enjoying it and done more than expected, think my brother is cutting ubi+ in 2 weeks so see how far I get before then.
