That Orion cover would make an excellent tattoo, gotta check out Modern Fuzz! Also, your remark regarding the OG Iron Maiden cover goes without saying, the "remastered one" is shite Edit: Great thread btw!!!

There’s almost too many good ones, they’re such a vibrant area for creativity \o/ I always loved Sonic Youth’s comped together album covers, glue and pictures and felt tips- And you could pick virtually any of the King Gizzard ones, they’re always amazing- Had this one on a T-Shirt as a teen, no idea how my mum let me wear it 😆

First record I bought and I spent hours looking at the inside of the Complete Madness album-

Who's Next - The WhoMy favourite album and a pretty iconic (if random) cover. The story behind it has been told a few times: originally they considered a pic of them having pissed on a Marshall stack (Townshend had moved to Hiwatt amps not that long previously). Moon and Entwistle had been discussing 2001 and the significance of the monolith when they came upon this concrete block while driving past a northern slag heap. A spontaneous photo shoot ensued with Townshend relieving himself, the others unable to perform with water being poured on the block instead.

I don’t think they’re necessarily the greatest of all time but there was certainly a period in the mid-90s when a Dave McKean album cover would pretty much guarantee I’d give any album a try

For the record, www.albumartexchange.com/ is a goldmine, when the owner isn't throwing the occasional hissy fit and blocking entire ISPs access in one fell swoop.

‘Tis a good thread, which I will participate in when I can be arsed.
That News of the World cover really reminds me of Stewie Griffin.

Unfortunately the front man turned out to be a girlfriend beating dickhead, but the cover for Vektors, Terminal Redux is wonderful.

Not strictly the cover, but the CD blister packaging for Spiritualized's Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space was awesome.

Apparently if you request Ken five times in a mirror he appears behind you and bites your ear.

Not strictly the cover, but the CD blister packaging for Spiritualized's Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space was awesome. Yes. I have one, opened and therefore ruined. A mate bought two copies, and still has one unopened hoping for a massive payday. Apparently, it's not making him rich any time soon.

I’m only gonna do a max of one at once I think. Here’s one for today. I’m a bit hyped for Squire’s new album with Liam Gallagher which I’m sure people will end up feeling let down over. Anyway yes he’s been derivative of Pollock here but it’s hard to argue against this being a somewhat iconic cover, in this citrus sucking sunshine.
