I've decided to save my money. I'm not invested in any of the storylines and haven't been impressed by any of the NJPW talent that has been on Dynamite. Plus you know they'll all go after the PPV, so largely pointless.
Maybe if we didn't have a new face every week, then Forbidden Door would actually be a spectacle.

Damn, dog.
Opposite end, I've not been impressed by any of the AEW side to wrassle NJPW. I can't even say Lucha Bros because they're AAA originals that debuted stateside on Lucha Underground first.

I'd say from a storyline perspective. None of the NJPW have come out and cut some scathing promos to get me to invest. You can't just randomly put together a bunch of people and get people invested. The whole Okada thing was a complete fuck up from my perspective. They ended it on them staring each other out.. so are you guys.. having a match? Then suddenly at the end of Dynamite.. ah it's a 4 way.
Even TNA in the height of shitting the bed could promote a PPV better than this.

Thing is, you say that as a joke, but I genuinely feel TNA and Impact have done a better job at offering an alternative product to WWE, whereas AEW has just been TNA- or NXT---

I can't agree with that, AEW has been mostly great (on the men's side) at being a wrestling variety show with regular high quality matches up until the last few of months where it feels like everything is falling apart.

Yeah it has been a great alternative to WWE, but I can see the comparison in the last few months to something that TNA got criticism for. The TNA originals were somewhat put to the wayside, when the WWE guys started coming in.

Add Red Velvet and The Bunny to the injury list. Meanwhile.. I hate this version of Rollins - he doesn't have the charisma or the acting chops to pull off a gimmick like this, it just comes across as incredibly try-hard (which seems to be what the guy's like in real life, too).

On Forbidden Door, I'm still ordering it as me and a mate are going halves and watching it Monday night.
Mostly for the fact that I want the buyrate to be good enough so if/when they try it next year with a non-injured roster (Punk, Bryan, Omega, Ibushi, Naito etc) it'll be off the charts.

I love it. He and Kevin are the best things on Raw IMO.

Hiromu out now at the last minute and no replacement so the Bullet Club v Sting-Gun match is now a trios match

This might be the most cursed PPV ever.
Waytt continues to tease a return to wrestling so maybe he shows up?
Know he's high asking price put Tony off before but he might be desperate now with so many out. Also what's going on with MJF? Just completely gone dark unless they are just keeping an injury or surgery incredibly secret. Maybe it's not a work.

Have been on the fence all week but think I'm going to buy it. It's a fiver less than their other PPVs on Fite and I want to support AEW after 20 years of lamenting the lack of a viable alternative to The Fed.

I caved and bought the PPV to watch while off with covid.
Halfway through and it's shaping up to be as good as last year's All Out, no regrets.

Very solid ppv. Shame about Cole but props to Jay for noticing he was in trouble and ended the match quickly.

Yeah, it was really well paced match up until that point, like the other 4-way, real shame it ended that way.
I know Tanahashi had no chance of winning the main event, but he made everyone believe, he would have blown the roof off the place if he kicked out the final pin then won it.
The crowd were amazing throughout the 4+ hours, really helped elevate the whole show.

Got round to watching Forbidden Door last night. What a fucking great show. Having a ridiculously enthusiastic crowd throughout definitely helped but pretty much every match was a banger.
I just wish they treated it as a self contained "super show" and let the matches and in-ring do the talking rather than diluting the last month of Dynamite trying to build in "pro wrestling" angles. NJPW has traditionally thrived without doing big angles above "who is the better wrestler?" and think this PPV would have been fine as a self enclosed event.
Best PPV since All Out last year definitely and was great to see Cesaro get the reaction he did.

Fantastic PPV - honestly, these AEW PPVs are an absolute treat and I can't believe they're keeping the quality up.
Ospreay vs OC was my match of the night. Loved every moment.

I just hope Claudio isn't in the background, and actually feuds with someone.

Ziggler with the best response to John Cena. I liked Becky's sarcastic golf clap as if she had just gotten last place in a round of Smash Bros.

That's some long term storytelling.
Sounds like Owens has a minor injury hence no match last night.
