If they wanted to go down this route, then a general manager would have been better like Regal. I mean is Tony going to come out and be overly awkward… no criticism on him, but he ain’t an on screen guy.

Vince talking telling Shane he's going to get the fucking beating of his life.. WCW did it a few times I think. Plus a few times in ECW. But it was my first time hearing an F bomb live and felt more impactful. And yes, it was Russo-rific. But I don't see a problem with that, Russos downfall was doing these kind of angles on every single show. Used sparsely I really like the worked shoot. Watching live last night it really underscores that unpredictable raw and edgy quality that AEW offers over WWE which to me feels more predictable, polished (in a bad way) and corporate. |

Depends how it all pans out I guess. If MJF scored a victory over CM Punk to get the title, then that would cause major heat.

I'm not sure on that. The guy is just incredibly over with the fans so unless he can do something to get them to legit turn on him I think it would get the loudest pop any AEW moment has recieved.
Still think they should have had him beat Hangman for the title. No rematch so Punk can avenge the loss to him just straight into the title picture.
Probably would have got more heat if Punk ended a MJF reign.
Unless Punk goes heal I can see fans turning on him before the year is over.

It's actually amazing that in the space of 3 days, MJF went from being the biggest heel and getting booed out the building to being well on the way to being the biggest babyface last night. Like he said, everything he touches turns to gold. Nothing in his promo was untrue, although I do understand why TK wouldn't want to give in to his demands as it sets a precedent for the rest of the roster.

Just caught up with last Friday's Rampage, Bryan Danielson v Matt Sydal and Kris Statlander v Ruby Soho were better than half the matches on the PPV. Well, obviously a run of the mill Danielson match is better than most PPV matches, but the main event had the perfect combination of Statlander's great offence, Soho's great selling and Soho's offence was unusually botch free here.
It's worth checking out if youses haven't and have a spare hour, also had a pretty funny Hardy Boyz match and the Assclaimed were entertaining too.

Hangman v mox would be a banger, only him and Danielson I could see beating Mox in the dynamite main event.
Although there's plenty of wrestlers I can see winning the Battle Royal, Pac v Mox would be amazing.

Seems like he got concussion this week and Cody is also injured now. And he wrestled..suffered a partially torn right pectoral tendon during a brawl with Rollins on Raw and then the tendon tore completely off the bone during weight training on Friday. That bruising looked nasty. |

It was pretty ridiculous to let him wrestle last night. He's likely to be out for at least 3-4 months now but at least he won't wrestle Rollins for 100th time.

Going by Saturdays house show they would have replaced him with Drew if Cody decided not to wrestle but from what he said to the crowd after the show he wasn't dropping out on such short notice.
Thought Seth was going to win(hasn't won a match on a PPV/Premium event all year) and they could have just had him storyline wise cause an injury to Cody at the start of the night before replacing him.

And Cody's position as a top babyface was built by himself and his time in ROH/AEW rather than WWE.
It's insightful that the last time he was in the fed he was a midcard jobber with no surname and yet here he is now main eventing PPVs. I'm pretty sure that wouldn't have happened if he didn't leave and it really speaks volumes about Vince's flawed "brass ring" notion where it's not his fault that talent don't get (as) over.

AEW for sure has its flaws but the way I read 'fans' on wrestling sites shitting over the spot monkeys and old timers.. I mean come on.. Priest has been feuding with Finn for ages, Judgement Day has been winning constantly... Edge pins Finn. What is going on.

Sucks for Edge. Pretty sure he enjoys being a heel more than face and to have the group taken away from him after just a couple months is lame.
And that entrance was great and won't have the same effect with Balor as the lead(that said the heel run in NXT was great).
It's not like Raw needs a top face at the moment seeing as it has no main belt to chase!
Edit- few reports doing Edge was unhappy about them wanting to start taking things in a supernatural direction so was removed. But they have been doing stuff like that since it started.
